mayberry

i have alerady sold my truck from frame up so i have all my running gear  and my 37 irocks. i still have a broken short side axle do i have to fix that i also have a leaky rear axle seal so i also have to do that but for the most part i have all my money spent now its just time

NorCalToy

what happened to that truck?

#5
i spun the crank bad in the truck doing the mud pit at a compitition and changed the oil and still did the rock crawl corse and made it un fixable. my plans are to slide all my running gear under the 4 runner. so sas rear leif convertion. rock sliders lower body rock armor. and we will see what happends from there. sooner or later i will have to do a tranny swap and then if my second one goes out or i stop liking the automatic ill do a 5spd swap

mayberry

insted of buying 2 2.5 inch shackle hanger tubes for 20 bucks plus shipping i got 20 inches of the same stuff for the same 20 dollars without shipping

mayberry

just so everyone knows the long bar with the 2 bends in it are my shock hoops not cut off yet

NorCalToy

nice. if youve got the tools to bend and whatnot thats definitely the way to go. ill be following the build as i also have a 2nd gen runner.

Hahah

This should be a good build, are you going more towards a DD type of rig rather than a trail only truck?

ya kyle your right i forgot about my flow, i bought this stuck from stocton and on my way home i was just outside of flag city and the rig started running terrable and then came the rotton eggs smell so i knew exactly what happend(clogged cat) so i make it to flag city and search all the syores for a hacksaw so we finally find one and cut the exost befor. the cat  and drive it the rest of the way home and a couple of days later get a new cat and a new flow then i did a full tune up on it, i let my KnN go with my last 4 runner like an idiot or els i would have a KnN on it too

mayberry

this one will be my daly driver until i find a little 2wd for cheap and then it will stay street legal but probably be a little more savage

ontherocks

i think heath has a K&N for a 3.0 still

if theyre what you need and gonna work better its probly a good trade for you if its cheaper and easier than buying new tires. :dunno:

Haha funny you mention it. my friends just did a swap: 39.5 iroks for 37 mtrs. one need to get rid of his trail only tire in favor of a DD tire, and the other needed to ditch his DD tires for a trail tire...worked out great for both parties

thats the same thing here since he got his daly driver he wants a little better offroad proformance out of his tires and i need to drive mine and it will kinda be more of a built pavement pounder until i get another vehickle then it will be more savage

mayberry

does anyone know what the seamlike band around on both sides of the 4 runner rear does, and would it hurt to shave it smooth
