I ran the k&n one once and decided it was a waste of money, I saw no imporvment using it

the k&n is a good filter... but there are a lot of otehr good filters out there for cheaper... i get my ford motorcraft fl1a at walmart for $3.77 each..... hell, the mobil 1 filters are top notch, and are $9.99 .... but k&n wants liek 13 for theirs... no thanks.....

I just pulled a Wix off my truck for the second oil change, the oil was kinda dirty since the motor is sorta breaking in and only has 1100mi since the rebuild.

the napa gold is great, so are wix filters... they might cost you $3 in wyoming, but here in CA they are at least 2x that

Well, I am a NAPA regular and I get an auto student discount, so maybe they normally are expensive here too, I just don't get hit with that high price. A little Sir and Ma'am ing will knock the price down for many things at different places... heck, today at the drive thru at a burger joint I said please and thank you to the nice lady working the drive thru, and she gave me my food for free! I still gave her most of the money anyways, but it just goes to show it never hurts to be nice.

They don't test any better than standard filters, you're paying for the nut.

Thats what I figured out on the BITOG forums, but I decided to try it anyways for the added capacity. I will stick to stock size Wix filters, because, after playing around with other filters, I found them to be the best for my application.

How much more capacity will this yield with the bigger filter?

Oh about .50 to .75 of a quart.

I run motocraft filters (work at a ford dealership lol) FL300 and add 5 qts of 15w40 delo... stock filter would be a FL793
