Hey its been a while since you've been on here. Yeah I still have a ton of pics of your truck build. I would enjoy seeing you put one together.
I would love to get a pair of tons and give you my axles. I need to find a job first.

Its kinda been on a standstill.. I wish I could say I have been building like crazy but Ive just been really busy trying to graduate and find a job. If I can land a job this thing is going to take off at a whole new pace.

Matty

gonna bring this thread back to life after nearly 4 years!  :shocking:

to keep things brief the truck wasnt getting used as much as Jared was hoping and so we started discussing the possibility of him selling it.  Being a great friend he gave me dibs on it  :beerchug: I saved my pennies  :twocents: all summer and picked it up from him Sept. 25th.  So far ive just been going through fixing very minor issues and changing little things to my liking, but this rig is a turn key crawler.

My real plan is to finish it the way that Jared and I had been planning.  Front Bumper, Partial Exo (since shes a tin can already ) and thats about it for now.  Id like to lower it a little, but I wanna see where a bumper and cage put it height wise.  Way down the road, Link the front, maybe a full belly pan.

There are also a few minor updates that were Jareds doing, he just never posted them so im gonna try to bring it all up to speed.  Im sure Jared will chime in on the thread as well.

Now what everyone wants, pictures

the night I picked it up from Jared's

about a month before that Jared and I ran Spring Creek in the truck, when the discussion of selling became more serious

freshly washed in my driveway today  :smokin:

Matty

about a week before I picked the truck up I got a call from a buddy back home who started making his own LED rock light kits, so he sent me a set out to test for him.  Got em all wired up and so far im really impressed. The LED strips are easy to tuck out of the way and the pods are thick and durable.

Matty

annnd here's what ive been up to in the 10 days since I got plates on it....

being an idiot in my driveway with my 80 series that has now become my DD

slipped a tire into v-notch, not bad tho

then yesterday I went down to China Wall with a buddy.  Drove the truck all day and it did great, trail wasnt super hard, but a lot of fun and a cool area.

and thats about updated.  Ill try to keep the thread up to date as I build/wheel it.

Sweet!

I love the partial exos that have the A pillars going through the fenders. This is the best toy cage I've seen.

I plan to do the same as well on my single cab 3rd gen. Do you plan on cutting the front inner fender, at the bottom of the a-pillar, as well?

Not quite, Arvada. I do ski a lot so I'm in Breck quite a bit in the winter.

It's always nice to see some local builds

Yup, ill notch the fender for the tube to go through. Plan is to run tube straight out to the front bumper as well and maybe tie that into the shock hoops, but it probably wont get done until sometime this winter since the season is already starting.  Hit me up if you ever wanna go wheelin.

Ya that's what I was thinking as well. I'm also going to cut the rockers out and put in the 2x4 tubing and tie the A and B pillar into it.

I'll definitely keep you in mind but my :pokinit: is at least a year from being driveable.

Matty

two weeks ago went back to chinawall to go camping for a buddies birthday, do a little wheelin and shoot some guns.
