Thanks Guys

I am getting the drive shaft shortened this week. Im sticking with the 2 piece. I plan on building a new bracket to hold the carrier bearing. That way the flat belly skid will cover all the way from the font of the tcases back to the carrier bearing.

I need to figure out what im going to do about the exhaust and if im going to lift the gas tank up right now.

Also I recently got some Hydro assist  . That has to wait for a little though because I need to swap my oil pan out.

Aright so last night and today I got the truck running.

The rear drive shaft was done really well, but I wish I would have put more thought into how long i wanted it. If I lift the carrier bracket up like i want to, it will be too short. I might make a spacer to go in the middle of the drive shaft to give it a little more length.
Also, I never checked if the front drive shaft shaft would fit ( I just assumed it would) but it is too short now. I think im going to make a new square shaft because I dont want to spend the money on a professional one. I think I will cut out the u-joints from the drive shaft I already have, and re-use them.

Anyways, Dual cases are bad ass!! and I only backed in and out of the drive way. I cant wait to get wheeling.

Here are a couple pics of the truck from the side.  No T-case to hit!!

Looks great, did you cover the tunnel up yet?

No the Tunnel still needs to get covered. I plan on framing it out with some 1" channel and angle iron, and then sheet it with 16ga.

Unfortunately it is going to be sitting like it is for the next 2 weeks. I have finals coming up and dont have any time to work on the truck. After this two weeks I get to go all out on it though.

Nothing wrong with PBR, does the job. Yeah same my junk, it spent way to much time in the garage. I only went twice last year. Where abouts do you live?

Just added a poll. Let me know what you think.
Entirely Internal, or partial Exo.
Full exo is out of the question. I think they look like :pokinit:. Partial Exo is pushing it for me, I just like the idea of not busting out windshields.
Please post up pics of recommendations.
here is what Im thinking of going with if I go partial exo.

by entirely internal do you mean just that or are you still gonna put the hoop out back and tie it into the cab?  fender bars?

jarboarder1

It would come out the back of the cab into the bed if it was internal. I want it inside the fenders either way. (not on top of the fenders)

Thanks, I will prolly take you up on that.

If you go through the back of the cab you can use these hole gasket things to reseal it. Basically they are a metel ring with a rubber gasket that allow movement. Ill see if i can find you a link.

And I voted for internal...

jimbo74

i say its too clean for an exo.... but if you crawl and are worried about it, go exo.... if you do stuff where you arent worried about the outside getting dinged up, go internal
