Seriously?  Wow, you need to find whoever told you that and kick them straight in the sack for being fully retarded.

DOM is tubing just like all the rest, it starts out as a piece of flat bar and is rolled then welded.  Crawlerdan pointed out the difference, DOM is regular tubing that is Drawn Over a Mandrel to normalize the wall thickness and remove the seam.

Sounds like you need to be kicked in the balls!

I disagree, 8Snaces was saying that to make DOM you start with a solid chunk of steel and then drill out the center, which is not how it is made AT ALL!

i am about 99.999999% positive that chromemoly is NOT lighter than mild steel. it IS stronger which means you can use thinner wall tubing to make it lighter. at least that what i've read and been told by every other reputable person.

You are right, CroMo isn't lighter If memory serves you can get away with .095 CroMo when .120 is spec'd in many racing organizations.

NITE KRAWLERS

Ya the red truck's cage is cool and the rear is dope. Ya Caleb ya should of got that done on your other truck so cool guy could have it. HA HA your cage and truck was sick. This red truck even has MTR's, very nice. Well if a guy is going to do a partial exo ya might as well just tube it full exo and then skin it buggy style. But the stock fender wit tube under is kinda a cool look to.
Sometimes life is a rock an we need a Yota to get over it an Chevy is like a rock so I'm over it!!!

nice been thinking of doing that my self. you running your stock break boster or did you convert it to a t100 booster? did you use a driveshaft e-brake and was it fairly easy to install?
T86OTA

Toydanota

Still running the stock booster, going to the t 100 soon. Ive been running the allpro driveline brake for 7years with out a problem. It's simple to install and works good. Sky also makes one.
