I know a few guy who have done this to there rims a it has worked out great everytime.
1 take tires of rims
2 Measure an even line on the inside of the rim just inside were the tire would sit
3 take a die grider with a cutting wheel and follow the line only going about half way through the rim.
4 weld a bead along the seem and turn the wire speed up a little so it gives it a "lump" affect.
Mount the tires back on and dont go under 2psi unless you got OBA.
I know a few dudes who run that rocks snow sand only 1 bead I have seen in person blown but its a long story.  I would do that and see how you like it if not you would still be able to put the screws in.  I just hate seein a tires get drilled through.  :twocents:

Dingman.

well the tires don't get drilled through, its supposed to just barely touch the tire and just prevents it from popping the bead.

kiyul4130

the screws go through the outside of the rim, in. ya they sit right on the inside of the bead holding it against the lip of the rim. a guy we know just did it but it hasnt been tested. id rather do beadlocks, but thats just me......

theres no way in hell id screw into the tire!! double beadlocks are out of my price range right now since all my cash has to go to buying a house, but i need to have something  for the winter, i have been researching and it seems like a very effective setup, please keep the opinions coming

i know a few guys locally that have done this and are happy, but it would be cheaper and easier in my case since the screws for all 8 beads will cost $52, having my tires dismounted, prepping and welding 8 beads, then talking someone into mounting on to my funky rims will cost more3 and take about the same amount of time, but if i had my own tire mounting tools it would be worth it.

dude just search craigs man.. I dont know about where you live but here theres always a set of weld on locks going for super cheap just my thoughts and I dont know anyone personally who has done the screws but I hear they work just don't know about on a 42 cause thats a lot of sidewall to create a lot of leverage on the bead

My buddys got some tire irons at his house he can use even ever took 4 of us about 3.5 hours to dismount, die grind, weld, and mount.. just a thought.

I thought you were talking about the drag scews that go through the tire.

Dingman.

So your getting the inchworm screws monday right?

P-DiseToy24

Talked to a couple guys about the no beadlock situation and got a really sweet idea... When you use those tires screws sand down the inside of the bead a little bit and put a crap load of rubber cement.  Ace Hardware sells rubber to metal bonding glue that would work tits.

Dingman.

I think thomas said he was gonna dab each screw with some right stuff to help it seal...

i went on their site to find the spacing and typed in 15 for wheel size and 1.0471" popped up, so i went on to get one wheel done and mike said whoa you used 44 screws , your not gonna have enough. so i double checked and i got the same # 1.0471, then we started qustioning my original order, so iu pressed tab to move to the next field and all of a sudden 1.4726 popped up  :headscratch: so yeah, im gonna be short some screws im supposed to only have 32 screws per bead, and i started on an outer bead where its visible so of course i want them all to match, i will be using only 32 on the inner beads since nobody will know (unless you are reading this)  :psss:

So hears a small write up on the inchworm beadlock screws..

First pull the valve stems and let the air out of the tires..  Then jack the wheel up so you can spin it around to make the installment go smoother..  (oh better grab a few   before you start, youll be here a while)

Then Thomas used a piece of tape and measured an equal distance between each screw..

Take a punch and make a guide mark where each screw will go

You might choose to do this and add right stuff to the screw before you attempt to drive them into the wheel, but the metal shavings stick to it, we found it better to start the screw and leave 1/2" room so we could apply right stuff before torquing down the screws.

Drive the screws down and then go over each one with a wrench so you don't strip them out with the drill.

While you are cleaning off the excess rtv that got everywhere, might as well take that brake cleaner and get rid of those  :stopit: blue and red strips on the wheels.

Thats it for now..

Youll get a review later once snow falls to let you know how they work..

Thomas P

took an hour for 44 screws, i think we could do 32 (what is recommended) in 30 mins (less layout, punching, drilling etc.)
