Fully restored? And why was it there? What was the bring theme this year? For the first time in a looooong time I did not make SEMA this year. I figured there would be a lot of hype on fuel efficiency vehicles..

That truck and the pics are pre-marlin crawler and just as he was starting the dual case, I have more pics at home most were taken from video so they're not the best images. It would have been a substantial build back when I built it but by todays standard it would have been some what of a tame build.

It was Rod Millen if I remember correctly.

Well, Infernal, that all depends.  Rod Millen built the first one.  My old feild tech rep from Lexus built the 2nd one.  The easiest way to tell them apart was to look at the rear suspension.  Rod's had the independent rear suspension and the Lexus guy's suspension was a stock land cruiser unit.

The Lexus guy (can't remember his name - it was like 5 or six years ago) was given a fully assembled Lexus LX 450 chassis with motor and trans intact without any vin #'s on the frame.  He said that Lexus used it for pictures and demo stuff and was going to scrap it, so he took it.  Every time he came to my shop, he had a album of buildup pictures and would keep me informed of what was going on.  The guy's at Toyota Motorsports helped him with the sheetmetal and he had a bunch of goodies for the inside like RX300 seats, an inner bed skin from a Tundra, and a full LX450 dash complete with NAV unit that were all warranty return units and didn't cost him a bit.  And of course, the front end was a widened section of a FJ40, just like Rod Millen's ride.

I would say your best bet would be to find someone that lives in a country that has Hilux pick ups and ask them to get you some from a local junk yard. I know there is a guy on yotatech that is stationed in Japan and he has access to a ton of Japanese Toyotas at a near by junkyard. I know the 4runners are called Surfs in Japan but I am not sure if the pick ups are called Hiluxes over there. Anyway since they are small items it would probably only cost you a few bucks. Heres a link to his thread:

I think he is refering to hilux badges, like the ones on the side that say Toyota or EFI. If not then here is the website for the guy who makes discontinued toyota stripes and graphics:

ask that japan guy about an emblem, not a sticker... I bet he could probably get a used emblem from the junk yard
