Rocksurfer, cool shortbed, how did you get the dent in the quarter panel? Nice wheel's, how big are those tire's? Lift? Is that  stripe stock? I've got an 84' that i would kill to get it to look like that!!! SWWWEEEETTTT!!!! :burnout:
Big rock, 33's, body/suspension for about 6 inches, don't know but they look like they've been on it for a very long time. Of course my 84's stripes are SR5

Its not mine, its busmup808s

That lift is from ALL PRO and the lift is the 5 front/ 6 rear. 35" MTR on 15x10 rims. Did the lift in Oct last year. My brother has it now.

This is how it looks now. I rolled it once. And smashed the whole front and rear of the runner.

Nice are you still parting out the 90? Was there anything difference in the Black package on the 79 comared to ones that didn't have that?

Prismo

This is an old picture of the 90 when it was still IFS. It is an SR5. Just a small double pinstripe.

The 90 is still being parted out and will still be being parted out for quite a while. Those are not SR5 stripes though, just factory stripes.

The Black package used what I believe is the SR5 graphics, and it had many other "fancy" (for a toyota pickup} kinds of things. I found a brochure for the 79 toys once, and the Black package got a two page spread in it. If I ever find it again, i will see about posting a link to it in here.

Nice 4runner Prismo, when did you do the SAS? Are the stripes still on the runner? Any new pics of the truck?

Brett

KDXSR5, I didn't know that Toyota had stripes on there truck's and it was not the SR5 package?! Now I know. Do you have any other pics of Toyota's with strips?! Just to make sure SR5 stands for SPORT RALLEY 5 Speed right? (I believe) If so why do new trucks come factory SR5 with automatics? Just a thought. let me know?? thanks

Brett

KDXSR5

In the 79 brouchure I read, SR5 just meant sport truck. My mom's tundra is an SR5, and it is just a package now. I am pretty sure the 5 has nothing to do with 5 speed because toyotas have not always had 5 speeds, yet there were still SR5 trucks.

NorCalToy

my new runners got a few small stripes on the side

its kinda hard to see em on that side because the fender has been painted, ill tryo to get a pic of the other side in bit.

We did the sas in 99 or 2000. The stripes are still kind of there where they haven't been scratched off by trees & rocks

Brett
1990 sr5, no power widows or locks
22re w/ cam, turbo oil pump & cooler, header, exhaust
r151 turbo tranny/flywheel/clutch, dual turbo cases. One is 4.7
529 gears, detroit softlockers front & rear (turbo diff)
One of the original Redline birf eliminator kits (test subject lol)
High angle drivelines & cv in rear
Onboard air, in-cab cage, rocklights, 9000i winch, hand throttle
More junk I can't remember

I travel to Montana, Idaho, Wyoming, Utah, Nevada every year. The headlight covers look gay but they do work as I travel tons of gravel roads.
Replacing 55/130w bosch motorcycle headlamps is not cheap.
Trail rash comes with the territory around here, not too bad for wheeling it for 12 years :eyebrow:

Bring back this thread! :shocking: Off topic does anyone have any idea's to help me modify my truck? What would you do? Lift, gears, hack it up, no campershell, hysteer? Let me know? :dunno:

Brett

46&2

The best mods I have done to my truck since I have owned it are:

4.7 tcase gears
duals
marlin rock sliders
rear marlin bumper
5.29s
rear locker
high steer

Any of those are a great investment. I tried to do them all at about the same time so its hard for me to choose one as superior to the others. probably the duals and gears have been the best mods, but depending on the terrain you wheel, other items may be more important. As for the topic at hand, here are the factory stripes on my 85 4runner

How about some pics of the old Ivan Stewart White/Yellow/Orange/Red stripes and also the same stripes in a White/Light Blue/ Blue/Dark Blue style?

I love that Blue stripe style like the old school Toyota Yellow/Orange/Red style!!

fortysixandtwo, Nice 4runner looks great! Those strips seem to be in good condition, do you plain on keeping them on there or do you not like them? I bought a hood strip and tailgate strip for my 85 from jamesdeancreations.com because the old one's were faded. I plain to keep mine on there as long as I can.

Thanks man! A lot of people seem to dislike the factory decals but I think they are sweet. I like mine. I think the factory decals in general are pretty cool and add a lot of character. Once mine fade or get old I plan on replacing them. I actually want to paint my truck grey and get replacement stripes to match. They aren't going anywhere any time soon :)
