:yikes:  That's why the Schwab down here in GP only drives around the parking lot to test drive.  Hope they make it right with you.

Fearofrunner

did you tare them a new one??? Be specific on the details please :)

i am surprised that it has even come to a lawsuit. having worked in the tire industry for years, if we damaged a car, we would immediately inform the customer and offer to take care of the issue, and then give them some free service or somehting like that

Les Scab sucks; they screwed up the wheels on my BMW and tried to deny it. It was obvious that they tried cover it up also by smearing tire dressing on the scratches. They paid to have my wheels refinished, but I had to jump through hoops.

They also tried to screw me on a tire warranty, but that quickly failed on their end.

What did you take your costomers car to les schwab for anyhow? Did they do an oil change, or what then decide the car needed a test drive? ???

les schwab is a tire installation company. i'm surprised its gotten to sueing, when i worked at sears automotive our policy was if we damaged something we were to inform the customer and take care if it to their satisfaction.

I am no longer a patron of Les Schwab. Two different stores in the area screwed up two different vehicles of mine. The first was torqueing a spindle to 175 ft.lbs., that should have been torqued to 30. The second was a brake issue. I replaced a master cylinder and abs sensor only to find out, the brake shoes they put on were cracked and the new drums were out of round. Now I go to Big O. They seem to know what they are doing. I don't get the free beef once a year, but my cars get done right.
I'm not as good as I once was, but, I'm as good once as I ever was.

Man I hate LesScwab, they must be trained jerk bags. I went in to have my squeaky brakes checked out. They told me the rotors needed to be replaced and could not be turned, gave me a price quote of around $400. The brakes worked fine minus the squeaking, so I told the guy (jerk) I would keep driving on the old brakes for a while. He looks me in the eye and says If you keep driving it's gonna mess up those rotors! The dumb ass already told me my rotors couldn't be turned!   :screwy:

America's Tire does tires right.

But I take my truck to a local guy I know and he doesn't do test-drives unless you ask.  Last time I got an oil change at the dealer, they decided to drive it in 4wd for a mile around the block(big block evidently - sigh) and then returned it in 4wd with it stuck between modes(forgot to roll it back and forth to lock the hubs).

I think that was the last straw for my old W56 before it died and I got the MC one.

Shoot, the dealers are so annoying as it is... a list a mile long of crap they think needs replacing and so on.  The local guy doesn't touch anything except for the oil or whatever I ask him to do.  Find a mechanic like that next time.  Yeah I know - sometimes we can't do stuff all by ourselves, and here in L.A. there's virtually no place to dispose of old oil cheaply.

DTB

I dont even trust the TOYOTA dealer after I pulled up one day to pick up some parts and saw a woman drive away in a brand new runner that apparently the techs forgot to put the drain plug back in......they was all staring at a big puddle of oil and i asked them what happened......pretty funny really
