30 spline long question
« on: Feb 13, 2008, 01:15:37 AM »
If you replace the stock birfs and inners with this set up and grind for the clearance, can you still use the old birfs and inners as spares if you happened to break the 30 splines before a hub gear or R&P? I am just wondering if they would still slide in as spares  :headscratch:

Mmmkay.  Your stock birfs are all 27 spline at the actual birf.  the diff side is 30, the hub side is 30.  but the splines inside the birf bell are 27.

all your doing is clearencing the knuckle ball right? so why wouldnt they slide back in to the carrier and hub gears? yes. youll be fine.

you have to carry extra inner 27 spline axles to if you want to use the stock birfs as spares.
