Then again, I thought all along nobody heard me, but watching the commercials I hear hillary say she hears me so :dunno:

ever hear of the first ammendment? lets say i have a website and i like a certain candidate so i put an ad on my site supporting them
guess what its illegal for me to do that within so many days of the election. what first ammendment? what constitution?

"We're not voting for who's going to be the next sunday school teacher, we're voting for a president.  There should NEVER be any affiliation between church and state, and nobody in office should ever make any mention of their religion or faith."

ummm so what your saying is that you heard someone use this statement at one point or another, please point out what part of the constitution
sais that there should be a seperation of church and state? the first ammendment sais that the government cannot limit or regulate religeon or the
free practice of it
seperation of church and state was a phrase used by thomas jefferson in a speach in 1812(i think thats the year at least) it is
not a law or even enforcable.
on a side note would you vote for someone thats religion required the sacrafice of newborn babies? thats something i would seriously take into consideration with a candidate

I just heard a radio message of McCain stating how he will tighten up the borders yadda yadda yadda. But what about the current illegals? Does anyone know McCain's stand on them? I thought I heard that he was going to allow all sorts of governmental aid for them? Is this true?

According to the mccain/kennedy amnesty act, which he said he would still support, if an illegal hasn't committed any crimes (I guess they're discounting the crime of illegal entry, document fraud, etc.) they would have to pay a fine...but, basically they would go to the head of the line. He and President Bush are both open border supporters.

I'm not so ignorant as to not vote for somebody based on their religion, and I'd hope nobody else is so ignorant as to vote for somebody due to their religion.  It's at that point that we become mindless drones.  I don't care who supports the pope, because that has absolutely nothing to do with the position.  I can't possibly see what bible prophecy has to do with anything, but maybe that's because I use my own mind to make my decissions :dunno:

Something to ponder, how in the world would you propose to remove all the current illegals residing here? A monumental task I think.

Before any talk of deportation, legalization or whatever means to cure the problem of current illegal residents you must stop the bleeding, until then shut up!

I think Arizona, (McCain's turf) came up with a cure for the work issue, and I should know since even though I no longer manage a business there I know what is going to happen and is happening right now. The company I worked for is definitely known for hiring illegals (and is currently in the cross-hairs), but Arizona enacted a law that started this year, to where as a business if you knowingly hire illegals and get caught you will suffer greatly. This is a no bull law to, if you get caught you will only be fined the 1st offense, and it is not a slap on the wrist, $10,000 per person. The next time you are caught you instantly loose your license to operate, period! So now how do you think McCain stands on illegals?

The 1st step is to stop or reduce entry into this country to a very small trickle then you can eye those that are already here and decide what to do about them. I say they stay since it will cost more to round them up, give them their hearings and then decide weather or not to allow them to stay.

Here's what I think should happen, allow all current illegals to apply for residency, not permanent but temporary this way they can legally work here thus reducing the burdens of hunting them down. If in 10 years they commit no more than infractions of the law they will receive permanent residency, not citizenship. Those that crossed illegally would never be allowed citizenship since they broke our laws to get here in the 1st place.

There then should be a worker program that allows residents from neighboring countries (North and South America) to come here and work, again this is not permanent residency. They must be working, no free rides, this does bring up some issues in my mind like fair treatment by employers but the law regarding this would be addressed properly. Healthcare must be provided by any employer that hires any employee that is in the worker program during their stay here.

Permanent residency would be reduced to a very small percentage, of the population of immigrants.

Of those that can prove they will be loyal to the US and not allowed just because you've lived here for a certain amount of time will be granted citizenship.

Anything above an infraction of the law can result in permanent revocation of these and subject you to deportation. Even an infraction beyond a traffic ticket if habitual could result in deportation.

What it boils down to is that until the flood gates are closed or until the working environment is too hostile for them to work in, they will come, they will work. I know if I were a contractor and hired 5 illegals to do a job and got caught, $50,000 would hurt. Now being in the sights of the gun just waiting to pull the trigger and I loose my contractors license and my license to operate a business there will be lots of illegals standing on the street corner waiting to the truck that isn't coming. Instead said contractor will now be using one of the day labor services that do backround checks for you and take the responsibility for that. If you take away the illegal jobs there is no reason for the illegals to come.

It's not their (illegals) fault, they just want to eat and live. It's the source that needs to be dealt with, but in saying that those that are already here it's too late, let them stay just make what they did hurt.

I'm voting McCain, sorry abnormaltoy.

Why's that, it's the opinions of others and their reasons for who they are voting for is what counts and makes those that don't know who they are voting for decide. This is the type of info that really tells others how people feel about the candidates. Do you think we should only vote from the spin from the candidates themselves? We'd all be voting for a crybaby if that were the case.

Just to clarify...mccain had nothing to do with this bill. That was the Arizona state legislature...and I support it 100%

Man, NEVER apologize (to me) for your vote (unless, you find out later I was right ). If that's who you think will do the best job, that's who represents your views...then God bless you for voting. My vote represents ME and how I think the government should be run according to MY interpretaion of the Constitution...all I can reasonably hope for is a well informed electorate. I hate it when people vote with their emotions rather than logic...the was a peice in a local paper and a guy said he was voting for Hlillary, this is his reasoning...and this is a direct quote "Hillary Clinton, of course," Herrera said. "She was the backbone of her husband's presidency and she showed me a lot about family values."  :yikes: I'm not the sharpest knife in the drawer, but for craps sake! From the same article a young lady (obviously from the sensible shoe and bad haicut crowd) said she was voting for Obama because...'He supports gay rights. I think it's important because everyone deserves to be happy with whoever they want.'  :yikes: :yikes: We've got people who want to blow us the hell up and she's concerned that there are sad people in this country!!

He (McCain) had to sign the bill too, and did. I remember the bosses at my work desperately lobbying him not to but he did. Sure it wasn't his baby but he did what was right in the end.

....I'm not sorry in that way, I just know how much you despise him even breathing the same air you do. :gap:

If they are to give amnesty to illegals then they should have to also give amnesty to any and all americans who failed to file or pay federal income taxes over the last 25 years since most illegals heve never filed or payed either.
