To NOT vote for someone because of their religion is as small minded as you can get. I remember, even as a young child, what a stir JFK caused..."We can't vote for a Catholic...and an Irish Catholic at that". And the fact that Huckabee worked this angle like a chicken wing, caused me to discount any possibility of voting for him.
btw...it's Mormon not Morman.

It's almost as small minded as not voting for someone because their name is similar to a well known terrorist

Like you said AT, it should be only about the issues. If they hold a lot of the same values as you do, then they are the one you should vote for.

I hate to say this...but, actions speak louder than words. He has shown himself time and again to be more of a liberal than conservative. I can tell you a cow pie is a steak all day long...but, when you take a bite, you'll know you've been had. I don't trust him any farther than I can pee.

Mitt Romney will suspend his presidential campaign, NBC News has learned.

His withdrawal effectively cedes the Republican nomination to Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz.

I wouldn't vote or I will vote for a 3rd party. I'm listening to him speak (on my pc) at the CPAC convention. He has very good speech writers, to bad they can't go back and edit his record.

I'm sorry but Mitt is so full of  :pokinit:  he kept saying how conservative he was and comparing himself to Reagan.  Look at his record as Governor.  Hardly so.  I'm no republican, I believe there is more than 2 types of people in the world so I vote the issues and my conscience.  I think its good that Mitt is out, he was a total phony.

I think McCain is a good choice for Republicans.  Calling him liberal is as ridiculous as Mitt saying he's a conservative.  McCain has tried to get things done and bridge the gap between the left and the right.  And following 8 years of Bush the republicans need someone more in the middle to get back the pissed off repbublicans, moderates, and pragmatic liberals to win.  If you look at the voting numbers for the tuesday primaries.  8 million people voted in the republican primary on Tues.  14 million voted for the Democrats.

All I'm saying is you have to be practical.  And sometimes you have to take what you can get.

I really hope its not Hillary.  Right now I'm pulling for a McCain Obama show down.  I think that would be a good contest and that I would be happy with either as president.  But again, I'm not a party politics guy.  I see advantages and disadvantages in all the candidates and nobody is perfect.  And there is more than one issue that I consider important.  And nobody is perfect on them all.
