kill switch
« on: Jan 12, 2008, 07:27:29 PM »
i have a 89 3.0 4runner and i want to put a anti theft/kill switch in it. can anyone tell me of a good wire to tap into. i would like to make it so if someone were to try to steal it they would be able to turn it over but not start it so i can hear them try to steal it. any suggestions or personal experiance would help. thanx in advance

coil wire going to the dist. Split the 2 wires to a switch and when its off it will turn over but not fire up.

would a normal square black relay be enough to handle it

Just a toggle switch is all you need. No relay. Theres 2 wires. Split one of them with a toggle switch and your done. Just hide the switch.
