Anti Theft kill switch ideas

in regards to a kill switch for the fuel pump.  if you have one of those, wont the engine fire, but not run for more than a couple sec, so its a really "loud" kill switch?

I ahave installed a few, and I wont say where on which vehicles, but the deck lamp switch (If it is not woking), the clutch start cancel switch, and even in the roof under the lineer so that putting up your visor could engage it.

my idea for prolonged time away from my truck would be a quick release to pull out my shifter when its in neutral and lock it in a secure box.

I think its interesting

my truck has been stolen a few times, but before i bought it, so i picked up the grant anti-theft system, good idea just a lil to much money, thinking back i would have rather just spent the time wire up a series or switches. but at least i know if they get it started they'll have a hell of a time driving it with no wheel

...hmmm... i never thought of that one.  how much does lo jack cost?  and is it easy to find and deactivate if your a thief?

http://www.ravelco.com/ friend of mine in midland had this, saved his 2005 dodge 2500 from being stolen, had to replace his door lock and his steering column. after it had been broken into.

lojack can be deactivated (more difficult than onstar though) but if the theif has messed with lojack before he/she probably knows how to eliminate that device. its not really an anti-theft, more of a vehicle recovery item.

that is interesting. maybe a push button release.
a cut down ammo box with a locking lid. leave it in dual low.

to bad we don't have the tire pressure controls like the hummers. set it up to let all the air out of the tires.

switches hidden in plain sight are also a way to go.
antenna switch, cig lighter, fog light switch. upper dome light, seat belt, head lights, rear drive shaft dissconnect.
key powered choke plate, (must be turned off to run), line lock on the clutch, (to keep it dis-engaged)

switches in plain sight can work pretty well, expecially if you have a couple of them. the cool thing about the ravelco system is how it bypasses a bunch of items such as the fuel pump and ignition and has not been beaten yet. my friends dodge had been hotwired and had the steering lock popped, theif aparantly tried to jump start the starter as well with no luck. not too expensive either.

A spinoff from this...

Wheel locks.  I lost my key to my wheel locks and the tire shop made quick work of removing my locks without the key.  Made me feel that I was wasting my time using wheel locks.

Any suggestions?

Are some locks more secure than others?

oh the lugnut wheel locks? the skinnier wheel locks work a little better because it requires a smaller socket to break it loose instead of the normal sized socket.

Its not an anti-theft devices or idea if its being SPOKEN out.......Sorry to say but you can't trust no one..........Had bad luck before with a car with everyone know what I had.Thats one thing about letting your rig being known....Thats why I keep my  mouth shut specifically about what I have..I would to if it was a anti-theft device I'm trying to come up with.....Bad experience, thats me.......

check these out. Yes they are expensive ($275). They appear that the will stop a thief with some special wiring. You could even mount it out of the way so it isn't real noticable. I always liked the idea wanting to make a remote that makes the door handles and/or seats so it has an electrical current going through it.
