Problems with T Case E brake
« on: Nov 28, 2007, 01:45:12 PM »
A 30 min job went into a nightmare :smack:
The disc is touching the floor  :headscratch:
Anybody had this problem???
It is a 96 Hilux with MC R10 Dual :turtle:
Plans are lowering of the crossmember or a 1" body lift, not cutting the floor this time :shake:

I recommend the body lift option if for only to give clearance for the transfercase mounted brake  :yesnod: . I found the same problem with my install and added the two inch body lift!  However, I'm sure many on this site will disagree and opt to adjust the sheet metal, but I required more clearance for raising the fuel tanks and additional suspension travel.
What ever you decide you will find the new brake works real well and eliminates all the moving parts on the rear axle that is prone to seizing if not used and maintained regularly.  :_order:
Good Luck DanS

1" BL and some well placed blows with a BFH solved it for me. And I have an E-brake that works awesome!!!!!!!!  :_oops:

Thank you all for great answers
Maybe I hammer it a little more to, just have to find a bigger hammer :_order:
But I am wondering why Toyota makes differnet floors :headscratch:
Looking forward to have the brake working 8)
