brake problems
« on: Apr 29, 2006, 09:05:13 PM »
My brake pedal sinks to the floor.  If I pump the brakes it holds pressure fairly well.  when I release the brake and press it again while driving, it sinks to the floor again.  I bled the Master cylinder on the sami, and bled the brakes according to the manual, and I still have the prob.  I bought a used MC and installed and still have the problem.  Unless I didn't bleed enough I'm thinking it's another bad master cylinder.... Imput?

get someone to pump and hold the pedal  when you bleed the system,  dont gravity bleed or  use one of those pesky bleeder pump things,  have somebody pump a couple times then hold the pedal dow firm while you open a bleeder on any wheel,  close bleeder and have them pump a few times and then hold down firm while you open the bleeder ,  when you open the bleeder and get nothing but fluid  then move to the next wheel

1st off think about some Speed bleeders.
2nd Did you bench bleed the master?
3rd Sami's have any issue with the rear brakes being a peta to bleed (see 1st item, it helps).
4th make sure you adjust the rear drums as tight as you can. I try to keep my e-brake ajusted so it engages (hard) before it is 1/2 way up. Just short of dragging/slight drag is about were I like mine.
