Too busy to be bored now! Yesterday we had both the 40 and 20 ton crane the 10k forklift, the excavator, and the bobcat working at 1 time in the motorpool. I'm bringing my camera today and will get a few pics of what were doing, dont know when they will ever get posted though.
On another note, I woke up and looked out the door and thought I was walking out of a cabin in trukee, ITS SNOWING!!!!
Sadly with the rain that came 1st its a royal muddy mess outside :( :tantrum:
Time to go mud bogging in the 10k  :gap: ( :psss:I hate the mud)

Not from Trukee, no. Live in Roseville. But I do ski.

And yes, I said Snow! I got pics, but since my comp is dead I have no way to transfer them off my camera.

Fobbit.....AKA Fing Hobbit; someone who stays on the fob, normally not wanting to go out side the wire for fear of life and limb.
That should cover it.

So you like my Girl do you? M249 SAW Squad Automatic Weapon firing a 5.56 round.  :reg:
I hope this pic is taken within 10 min of getting off a mission before you cleaned it. The moon dust mixes with CLP and gunks up the gas tubes then when you try to fire the M249 it takes a :pokinit:. If you keep your M249 like that all the time, your NCO's are not checking you and need to start doing their job. I hope you are safe, I will be rotating back in country in Sept. (High Five)

would I be correct in assuming that the red-tipped rounds are tracers?

Loosekannon

I am on my way there. Stuck in Qatar, I hate this base now. Are you up in North Iraq. I am gona be in a base in the south.  :beerchug: Its has been raining down here for the last 3 or 4 days too.

John Doe

Answers to questions....
Yes the red tipped are tracers.
No my Nco isnt doing his job.
That photo was taken so long ago I dont remember how recently I had cleaned it.

I dont use much CLP, and when I do I put a little on just before I roll out. I never have had much faith in my weapon, thats why I keep a m16 at my side in the turret.

Moon dust and water makes for some annoying mud.

BTW Loosekannon, I'm in the  wild wild west. I could be going north eventually, but I dont know.

:dunno:  Never seen them in my experience as a military brat.  I've never been overseas though, so I can't say there's none.  Don't think they exist in the states though, most are the lime green   One of the first goals of FFs on scene is visibility, so camo really isn't conducive to that :gap:

that would be tits to roll up in a desert camo engine, with desert camo turnouts across the pont and fight the fires...

John Doe

We have a few fire trucks here. 2 regular old Big red trucks, and 1 air port style thats painted a dark Green. I wouldnt expect any of them rolling out the gate any time soon.
