I'm not a huge fan of running dogs on bears, though it's a way quicker way to find them!  I have an uncanny nack for seeing lots of bears, but that'd stop the day I bought a tag :haha:

A bear?  :jawdrop:  I can't remember how many I've seen this year, but it's atleast 4.  3 were shooters.  Any time I've sat down and tried to remember how many I've seen in my life I keep remembering bears I'd long since forgot about.  I've seen enough to pattern how they escape.  It's pretty neat cause I know what's coming when one spots me :haha:

And I can remember how the dern things usually tried to escape the hounds -- it often involved running to the furthest, deepest, ruggedest (is that a word?) hardest to get into and a whole lot harder to get out of canyon they could possibly find...   :tantrum:

Hmmmmm, wonder why my knees don't much like me anymore?   :headscratch:   :gap:

Holy fatties :yikes:

Saw some nice turkies beside the road on the way to work.  Hope I can find one tomorrow :crossed:

You may get a kick outa this since you haven't seen any bears yet;  I was out on a chase call one day and was telling the people about putting their garbage cans up the bank so the bears wouldn't board their boat and they were   They never considered the possibility, and I told them there was always the chance of seeing one.

I got in my work boat, got a few hundred feet from the cove and saw what looked kinda like a duck swimming backward while dragging it's head in the water.  As I got closer I realised it was a bear swimming across the lake :yikes:  I swerved around him and followed him at a distance till he hit the other shore, just to make sure nobody ran him over.

Ouch :yikes:  That doesn't look like fun at all!  Hope that heals/healed well

Years ago my friend hit barbed wire on his bike too.  Couple friends had ridden in an area for a few days, came through the area again and somebody had strung a single strand of barbed wire across the trail :shake:  Hit his chest protector, slid up to his neck and jerked him off the bike.  Probably woulda been a lot worse if he hadn't been wearing his gear!  Funny thing was he almost never wore it.
