heres from last wednesday at grizzly island, got the first 12 in the first 20 minutes of shooting time then waited about 15 more minutes to get a little variety in out straps finished it off with a green head and drake pintail, all ducks shot landing in the decoys

grizzly island is my little treasure of the refuges, everybody thinks it sucks and all the ducks are shitty but ive got limits the last three times ive been there with no spoonies or divers or shitty ducks of any kind all widgeon, pintail, mallards, gadwall, ringnecks, cinnamon and greenwing teal.

Deer season opens this weekend. I'm gonna be hunting for my first time. Figured I'd revive this thread for old and new times' sake!

I didnt know A zone opened up so early.. thats crazy. we have to wait till mid/end of sept for our zones up here.. ( d3-5  /b zones)

I will be packing a pistol for some of my hunts this year and focusing more on the birds.  Maybe then I'll see a shooter deer  :crossed:

Well, I got my first buck. He was a little guy but it was my last chance to go out so I took him. It was a great experience and I'm thinkin' I can get used to this!

Yes, that's Poison Oak I was sitting in - got lucky though. Orange Clean with Pumice worked to ward that off!
