2nd gen extra cab/first gen bed

Ramrod

14" bilstiens with about 2.5" lift.  now that the springs are all bent and sagged this setup isnt working anymore the shocks ride pretty much bottomed out when I have the truck loaded to wheel

leave like 5 or 6" of shaft showing on the shock

THK Matt

LOL good eye....

Actually if you want to have an ideal setup that wont haveto mess with much take into concideration saging (since im sure lots of people have run these shocks you should be able to get a pretty good Ideal of where they will settle too.) then flex out your rear suspension to the max and measure the distance from axle mounting surface to crossmember surface on both sides of the axle.  This should give you a shortest and a longest measurement.  Then when you get your shocks you should have a real good idea of how you have to place them to keep from bottoming them out/ or having them limit travel.

Sounds like a fun class, my only two fun teachers got fired, one for doin crack and the other for sexual harrasament...  Oh well.....  If you can find out how much sag you should expect for when you settle it may be a good idea to throw some weight in the back to simulate for a more accurate reading... you know, some weights, dead boddies, whatevers layin around...

they should settle more then an inch or two. the front will settle a few inchs, but i dont ahve to worry about that.

ill see whats laying around in the boneyard at work tomorrow that i can throw back there before i go flex. i might be able to get a body or two. if not then shoot.
ill find something to get back there
