tomorrow i need to rig up an extended break like for the rear connector at the T on the axle. i know how to do it its just a matter of getting it done. then im going to bleed the system and test it out. hopefully that works. the calipers ive never cleaned in my life...what do i do with that...take the pads off and spray break cleaner in them or what??

Well I would inspect them to make sure they need to be cleaned first. Mine NEEDED it badly because I had a nasty gear oil/grease leak. If they arent all gunked up and dirty I would just leave em be.

Where are you mounting your firestik? I don't know if you have already specified this, but I was just wondering.

when i get it done ill take a pic

i havent bought it yet.. but im gunna get a 2 or 3' foot one

thanks

here is part of the front DL. my buddy matt did some welding on it while i was working on the truck outside. and this is how he cleaned it up. this pic doesnt do his work justice. it is really realy nice, but i cant use it.. more on that to come

Doof

while matt was working on the DL i set up my workshop outside. it was raining but i made it work. it was pretty nice.

then later on at night i put on my DL and this is how it turned out. i just put on the CV joint... for more info on the useless new front DL read this http://board.marlincrawler.com/index.php?topic=38897.0 and then look at this pic. in the second one you can see why i cant use the CV anymore

Doof

i didnt take much pics yesterday but i got a few today. pic one is my shackle angle after mounting and welding the hangers to the frame. its hard to see but if you look close enough you can see that the top right part of the shackle isnt touching anything while the top left is under the frame rail. that pushed the bottom of the shackle out to the right about an inch. in the second pic you can see how the little plate took care of that

Doof

backtrack a little bit for a lil info on the next few topics

i only swapped out one spring becuase of the rain at the time. so after i got the spring swapped out i drove the bomber back through the yard to the garage where i backed it. when i backed in we disconnected the rear breaks so when we jacked the body up it wouldnt pull the lines. so i had ZERO breaks. we got the other spring swapped out in about 1/4 of the time since we both knew what to do right. after we got the spring swapped out i pulled out of the garage and turned around in my street. i forgot i had no breaks and went to hit the breaks before i rolled into my neighbors mail box. i didnt stop but i pulled the ebreak and stopped. then i turned around and pulled back into the garage for some last minute touch ups. we got done working at around 1230. then i sat in my hot tub for two hours and almost fell asleep a few times. i dozed off once but woke up. and by the time i went to bed it was 3am. so when i woke up, matt came over and we fixed the shackle angle. last night we were to tired to figure out why it was / so we jst said F it and went out seperate ways. but when i woke up we got that taken care of first. then we extended the break line to help compensate for flex and what not. i put the shocks on and then drove to lil buddys. we went out to the airport and took some poser shots. but keep in mind, the front sprigns are still BRAND NEW and this was the first time any pressure was applied to them. and this is what is looksl like. then i backed around and the rear springs are amazing. when i put on my 1.5" wheel spacers up front it will look better as well. but anyways enough rabeling and more pics....

and then you have lil buddys pic

does anybody know if a V6 master cyl. will work on my 86 4cyl?

46&2

Yes it is a direct bolt up. Marlin sells brand new ones if you need one.

Lookin good man.
Just got my SAS done, check out the buildup thread.
So are you runnin without wheelspacers up front?
With my v6 calipers we had clearance problems, so i used some dinky lil 1/4" spacers for now.
And yeah, Mt. Dew Cans do make good substitutes for an E-brake
40' bottles on the other hand.... :gap:

the spacers are fine...the studs were previously   :lipsrsealed: up so when i put the wheel spacer lugs on they got all up and gone messed up so now they are useless

pics from my new haul from my dads. i got a CB antena and mount, i would guess 150 feet of wire, and a kit with wire stippers, pliers, fuses, connectors, one of those light up things that tells you weather there is current or not going to what ever your testing
