I never give change when I break bills. I don't break bills as much as I used to though as I mostly use my debit card.
Also.. I have a rule, if I find it in a pocket or in the wash it goes in the coinage container, so the bills help too but we had a fraction of that much coinage and when we rolled ours not to long ago it was over $300.
That was just a bit over a years collection. It really adds up.

I don't keep mine in that size jar. When I was younger (I know that covers a lot of ground) I had my change in a 5 gallon glass jar, thing giant flour canister...it got full and when it came time to move, I couldn't move it. Now I keep my change in a large peanut butter jar and cash it in every 4 months or so.

I've got one of those change collector things, mostly spare change but I also grab all the $2.00 bills, .50 cent pieces and $1.00 coins that come through my store. As you can see it is designed for the task in the 1st place instead of being an empty water bottle. For some reason though it always seems to never have anymore than about what you see, I've had this thing since before Dale crashed and it just never seems to get any higher, does anyone know if money evaporates? That's what the wife says is happening.

my daughter went to work with me for a week and spent 10 hours every day walking around finding pennies and dimes on teh ground that customers had dropped, had fallen out of crushed cars, ect.


in a week she found 32 dollars .....she bought dinner that weekend

I haven't seen a $2 bill in eons. Now that I've said that...I get one today. I don't get too many $1 coins either.

There is quite a lot of them in there buried under the coins, maybe $50.00 or so. I get 2 or 3 a week.

I have mine split up.  I have a full piggy bank, and a full doggie bank that I stashed.  With this kinda neighborhood, I don't wanna keep it all in one spot

Oh, and I have a couple of bins that are for pocket change.  One for me, one for Matt and one for our "Us" fund


And mom gave me this pretty little urn type thingy that says mom and daughter fund.  I throw a few quarters in there once or twice a month

I've got a green plastic piggy bank   its almost full, I should probably cash it out soon.  I used to put it in a 32 oz. gatorade bottle, when I cashed that thing out last time, I had about $80 in there

i used to have 2 little plastic jars (about the size of a coke can) that i kept in my truck to put the change in. it would build up pretty quick but what was really funny was the change that people would lose in the seats in both the suburbans i used to have. every 2 weeks i'd find about 10-35 bucks in change that had fallen under the seats, was wonderfull.

  When I went to buy my first set of rims and tires for my dodge I counted up my change jars.  I had over $700.

our vending machines at work give $1 coins - you can put in a $20 to but something that costs $1 and get back 19 $1 coins.... the local metal scrap place i go to gives out new $2 bills
