Well..., i came home from a 12 hour work day yesterday, my gate to my side yard was open, the side light was on, and the hood of my truck was open.  I went to see what the heck was going on and when i looked at my truck, HALF OF MY MOTOR WAS MISSING!  Im still baffled by this... who would have done such a thing... and why?  its just a Carbed setup...

Thanks to Turbo for helping me out with my motor.  The exhaust is now off as well.  I have finished all my selves in my side yard for parts storage, and my newest one is strong enough to hold my EFI Motor.

Minor snag, i just realized my rebuilt motor is a early style, and i dont have a hole for the knock sensor.  I have been told i can put a bolt and weld a nut big enough for the sensor anywhere on the motor, has anyone taken this to the smog ref like this?

Here are my shelves i built...

Hey, before you go making that bolt adapter... you should make sure that the exhuast manifold will bolt up to that head? I dont think the intake manifolds are different

Intake is different, exhaust should be the same.  Either my head was drilled and tapped for EFI when it was rebuilt, or i have a late style hear on a early block...

I think im just going to do the welded nut and bolt idea, and see if the ref doesn't notice/care.  Fun part is going to be the wiring anyways.  Even if the ref does catch it and not pass me, all i would have to do then is anther motor swap then.  Not even that, just swap the lower block. You ready for the fun part?  Reg/smog is due by April 30.

If the bolt/nut mount for the knock sensor doesn't throw the check lamp, then I don't know why they would care. Just try to mount is as close to the stock location as possible. Who knows, maybe they won't even see it.

Instead of placing a bolt in an existing hole and welding a nut to the bolt head, ditch the bolt altogether and just weld a large nut to the block in the same location where a normal 22R-E mounts it's knock sensor. I'm willing to bet they won't notice the knock sensor sticking out a bit more than normal.
