Just checking in on the new project I got, have a lot to do and very little free time these days but once it cools off here I'll get on it, got a trans and tcase with the deal so I've got my doubler and now only need the adapter to put it in. Lots of littles things to do to it too and I'll probably take care of those 1st. Has 33x12.50 Mud Kings mounted to some M/T rims a 5 inch Pro-Crap type lift with blocks in the rear  :puke: the blocks are #1 on the list when I get into it. First though gotta fix the A/C, replace the seat, fix the door locks, tailgate and a bunch of little things. It is an 86 with a 22r that runs real strong, sadly no EFI, or ps. So I've got some shopping to do.

Here's what I started with, I did add the stickers it didn't come with them.

Is it me or is the front passenger side shock bent? Otherwise look's good.

I wish, it would be cool but 1 I don't think it'll be ready and 2 I prolly won't have the time to take off. If I could you know I'd go for sure.

A couple other people have noticed that and I have looked at it and it is straight. I think it is an optical illusion, and that's where the name comes from.

Here's a new shot that I just took, it is straight. Just an optical illusion. That bumpstop sure is bent though, pretty common with an IFS lift.

As you can see it has new halfshafts too, his dad is a mechanic and is why it is a well maintained vehicle even though the AZ sun has taken its toll on it.

You can make your 22r a pretty hot motor.  I just drove my 82 for the first time in 4 days after rebuilding my motor and installing a weber 38 carburetor and header.  Its really really powerful now.  The butt dyno tells me about 120 strong horsepower.  Its an ENORMOUS difference from what I had before with all stock and 210K+.  Maybe something to consider in the future.  But if you want to keep it smog legal forget about it!

nice truck by the way
power steering is really easy to put in, it all bolts up.
82 hilux, bobbed, really fast 22r, 2 transfer cases, ARB's, 5.29's, 37" MTR's. Custom everything.

Rocksurfer

Yeah I'm not into making a hp monster, just want a dependable rig that I can drive to and from the trail. So yeah it does need to be street legal too. If I did an engine swap I'd prolly go for a 4.3 GM down the road but for now I enjoy the reliability of a 22r.

my 22r is unstoppable and unbreakable.  although it does leak a lot of oil  :smack:

Hey RS. I have a few a/c parts (mostly under dash stuff) and some glass from my 85 left over. I think I still have some of the door handle hardware too. You are welcome to any of it.

Cool let me know what you have, my current issues are the left window regulator is broke about 1/2 way up so I have to pull it up by hand, the A/C issue is prolly just a charge thing. There are a bunch of little things that I need to do to it. Obviously you know I'll be trying to stay as street legal as possible and wheelable too. I try to keep that fine balance going between the two.

where is the progress????

You don't know me very well, most of my rigs don't look the part but do very good when they hit the dirt/rocks. I do as little as possible to make them work. Right now I'm over busy at work and have been putting in over 70-80 hrs. a week restructuring another store for my boss Jack. I haven't seen a day off in about 2 mos. now. Hell I had to squeeze in buying this thing. There are a lot of little things that I've done so far but mostly just maintenance and R&R to this point

Actually I did remove the front swaybar and took apart my other tcase. The main reason I'm posting is that I keep getting people wanting to talk to me about my  :turtle: sticker on the back of my truck. I work on a very busy street right across the street from Mesa Community College and I've had about 3 people ask me what I have in it. I'm embarrassed to tell them it's sitting in my garage yet to be installed. So Marlin ship me a free adapter so I can sell these guys on your products. Also ship me a big marlin sticker and I'll put it on my hood, they'll see it for sure then. :gap:
