My post #'s went down?

I dropped 5 posts  The only thing I can think of is that I had a post in the parts for sale & had a moderator delete it since I sold it (good house cleaning for the system) Now my post #'s went down  I know they are just #'s but is that how it works

if I had to guess I'd say my count would be double if they counted But the only thing I care about with the post counts is the title they could hide the total itself as far as I'm concerned.

Who cares how many posts you have, this ain't pirate. Around here knowlege is king, solve someones issue and you become one of us, or if you are just fun to chat with that'll do too.

I feel sorry for those whose post are all on one thread. If that thread is removed they go back to nothing.  Does their title get affected as well?

Key thing is, it really doesn't matter.  You can have 1 post or a million, if you're helpful, or don't act like a richard, then its alll good.  If you're not helpful, or you do act like a richard, than all the post counts in the world won't help you here

Well put, and like I said this ain't pirate so even newbie questions won't get flammed. We all were there once and through this board people that originally couldn't tread over there now are hotshots.

No, just that we will teach instead of flamming a noob for asking noob questions. Sometimes even the veteran's get flammed there for a question. I realize Pirate is a bb set up for extreme tech but someone has to take the noob by the hand and PUSH THEIR ASS THROUGH THE DOOR!!!

So are we, here on Marlin. The only extremity they have over us is being a bunch of guys with the balls they have online that they don't have in real life to say those kinda things to someones face.

Well what I meant was that they tell you upfront that the board is not there for the noob and in fact have a section for the noob to post in. Personally I get enjoyment out of seeing a noob develop into a full blown techy, it only takes a little help and once they get it off the go building some incredible stuff that rivials anything they do on Pirate. That kind of stuff just fluffs my chest when the student builds something better than the teacher.

I've had quite a few come here ask the noob questions to get started and the next thing I know I'm going WOW, nice rig he built. Sometimes all they need is a little direction and bang off they go.

Three reasons why Chit Chat Posts are not counted:

1) Earn your posts by responding to tech questions in stead of chit chat.

2) Prevents new members from quickly padding themselves with useless posts in order to participate in the classified section.

3) Prevents members from being post mongers.
