ok, i either got bannedd from the shoutbox, or its jsut broken or something,, i can see everything, respond to posts, get PMs, but i cant post in shoutbox, i get "An Error Has Occurred!" it has been like that for the past 2 days, and i have even tried different computers

also, someone changed 4wd legend on my position, to 2wd legend, which is fine :thumbs: but i wonder if that had anything to do with the shoutbox not working....

i think i was banned but not sure, because when i was banned before, i did get "An Error Has Occurred!"

you were banned before , then come back get bent out of shape about something and start throwing F bombs around in the shout box, huh that may have something to do with it ??? been banned once, seems you dont get it

Since this new forum software is still under development by its publishers there might be a few bugs lurking around. So if you happen to notice something that is not working correctly, please post it here and I will see about fixing it.

Thanks in advance,
BigMike

  Only one bug found so far( nice new look by the way)..  I was posting a reply, and had typed out the whole message, then tried to add a smilely for the "more" page. When I click the smilely to add it to the completed message, the smilely appeared in the message, and all the text disappered. :headscratch: I can add smilely from the first smilely page but not the second(more) page? :help:

Hey Mike, I don't know if anybody else has this problem, but since the new change, I've been having problems with the login!  I have the save login feature on, but it keeps coming up with "insecure password" box.  Should I take the auto login feature off and and manually type in the screen name and password in and retry the auto login feature again?  The Marlin page takes forever to load and somebody else mentioned that the page loads slower for me too!  I know dial up sucks, but just waiting for DSL to be hooked up anyday!  Thanks!
Miss ya Dean (4THEWKN) & Kyle (KYOTA)!!

BigMike, I think I found the problem with the scroll bars. Ge edit the style.css
search for this:
/* Posts and personal messages displayed throughout the forum. */
.post, .personalmessage
{
   width: 100%;
   overflow: auto;
   line-height: 1.3em;
}

replace with this:
/* Posts and personal messages displayed throughout the forum. */
.post, .personalmessage
{
   width: 100%;
   overflow: visible;
   line-height: 1.3em;
}

give it a try

88runner, thanks, I just updated it. Let me know if it's working.

Also, you were telling me about a Javascript-based Chatroom that would work with SMF (not IRC). I would like to do that before next month. I know I have missed the last two chatting sessions with Marlin, but at least I should redo the Chat room so that the next time everyone will be able to log in without needing new versions of Java or access to IRC servers..

About the log in, I have not heard about any trouble with it. I know that the Password coding was updated and there are more feature for password maintenance, and one of the new features is to change the level of strength for passwords.

For instance, I can place restrictions on the required lengths of all passwords. I can also place restrictions for what words you can or cannot use within your passwords.

But I just decided to leave the strength at the default setting, which requires passwords to be at least 4 characters long. I suppose if your password was set to god123 or rainbow or something ridiculous like that and someone hacked into your account, then shame on you for not using a more unique or cleaver password.

I dont want to have to require everyone to change their password, especially since we have people on here who use the "Stay logged in" feature who may have forgotten their passwords even (yes their are ways or retrieving it). Some people only come here like once or twice a year and I dont want them to have to change their password just for that

But if I am way off or this is crazy talk, then I can set restrictions on passwords. I know it would make everyone's account more secure, but I've only heard of two members having someone get into their account and put up erroneous posts

Only problem I've been having is the "you have/may have already posted this, go back and check".  This isn't exact text, but you get the jist.  Otherwise smooth, didn't clear cache or cookies or anything.
