Well,

Well........ I think it's fixed now.. I had some mix matched version of source files loaded, so I changed about 5 lines of code in various files, so I'm hopeing that was the problem.

So I could go back to just splitting the load between only a couple of users, as there are a total of 7! users for the database now, but I guess I'll just leave it the way it is and just see how it goes.

If it ain't broke, don't fix it, right?

Really, I think we just need to give IPowerweb a kiss goodbye and move the Forum to a real host.

Both the software developers and myself can not figure out why this is happening.

This has gotten ridiculous. Right now there really is nothing that I can do. I will have to see about making arrangements with a new Host tomorrow afternoon.............

Important News 02:06 10/21/2005: Regarding the recent errors with the forum, I have decided not to close the forum down yet, and to bring it out of Maintenance Mode. I am working hard trying to resolve the "max_questions" issue, and I would like to try one more thing before I am forced to transfer the entire forum to a new host. However, I will not be able to do this until around 3 pm PST today.
So for now, I am going to leave the forum up and operating, but please be advised, the error may come back at any time.

Yet I turned that off at 2am.

Yeah, well I over slept and missed a small study group this morning at 10am, so I had a friend take notes for me in my Calc class so I could study with a Japanese buddy before my Japn. test.

I was actually the last student to leave the room. The teacher even let me go like 20mins over time. That has got to be the best I've ever done on a Japanese test. I really hope that was an A effort-


Well, it's also been all day and still no one from the forum support team has replied to my post over there... So either no one has an answer, or the only smart people are gone for the weekend maybe.... who knows.


For now, I am going to change to the 1.1 RC1 software version, which isn't a full release like the 1.0.5 (that we are using) is, but maybe it is more compatible with whatever the hell our host IPowerweb has done that caused these problems in the first place.......

Board's been real slow for me for several days now, doesn't seem to be only me either.  Maybe we're outgrowin the system?  Keep pluggin at it Bigmike, I'm sure you'll get it goin better soon.

I think that warning is still activated, unless it got turned off...

As for the Turtles, when the forum kept crashing with the "Max Questions Exceeded 50,000" crap, our herder decided that he wanted to quit, he couldn't put up with it. So I thought we could just hire a good shetland sheep dog to keep the Turtles in line, but she just wants to play ball all of the time...

Then about two weeks ago, there was a rebellion amongst the Evil Turtles, and they dug a hole under the encampment, and they all somehow escaped.

Now you might think that this is a good thing, being that there are only Good Turtles left, but the problem is now that the Good Turtles have gone into inbreeding depression, and our breeding team can only get Good Turtles that are worth just a couple of points, so we have stopped the program until we can locate a couple really really really evil Turtles so we can start breeding them again.

Yeah, those inbred suckers taste nasty, all skinny and stringy. Maybe you could round up a couple of the escapee's and turn 'em loose on some of those inbred girl turtles, I hear that makes for some plump baby turtles with lots of meat in 'em, though I've been told the meat goes bad fast because of the previous history of inbreeding.

I get a thingy that says either "you already submitted this post" or "the last posting from your IP was less than 10 seconds ago".  Although I am not sure if this is NetZero hating FireFox, or the BBS...

The thing about "you already submitted this post" is really annoying, and when I complained about it to SMF, they didn't know what I was talking about. Apparently none of their beta testers ever had that problem, so I thought just something was wrong with my forum, but then everyone started replying to a topic I started on the help forum, and it turned out that it happens to more than a few people. But they said it's a host problem and not an issue with the forum. And believe me, I am so sick and tired of our host (IPowerweb.com) but I have not looked into changing it......

Are you logging in with a specified time limit, or are you logging as "Forever" ?

hMy notifications for topics isn't working.  also the list of topics ive replied to or started isnt showing up in my list

Does anyone have this problem? When posting a message it takes forever to load all the smiley's, if I don't let the smiley's load and click post my page won't display. I think that there should be less smiley's on the post page, you could put them on the "[more]" page.

Well, for right now, I am not going to worry so much about things until I get the new software up, which at this point, doesnt look like its gonna happen until I get back home (next week)

Glen's on dialup and has an old puter. The smiley's load slow for me sometimes and I am on cable or broadband at work. It doesn't matter if it is the main smiley's or the "[more]" smiley page they both can be slow to load sometimes.

I don't know if anyone else is having this problem, but when I visit a page it only loads what was there the last time I was on it. I have to refresh to get the new posts. It could be my browser, not sure.
