nope, they're made from some plate cut to the profile of the body and a short section of a door skin i had around just to cover up the hinges

So i have to ask, what do you think would have been easier and worth the money, doing a custom 4 door cab or importing one from australia for $6k? SICK job btw.

For me it still would have been easier doing it this way, and I was able to build it the way I wanted as far as leg room goes. It's been a ton of work and a lot of down time but I think it will be worth it and i'm excited to get it back on the road and the trail again

exactly, once i got them welded up and sat in the cab i realized how big that gap was and how easy it would be to loose stuff without some kind of kick panel

i've got to get it insured and registered again, it's been non opp'd for the last 6 months. I also have to smog it get it reg'd so...i'm going to get some temporary tags because that could take a while, i've never been able to pass the first time, i've passed the second time only once, the rest have been 3 or more

Wow, looks absolutely amazing.

I have the same problem with smog, always have to tweak it several times to get it to pass.

go to the place in tulare behind the water park on mooney he works wonders and if you dont pass you only have to pay the one time and can test as many times you want til passes.  its a hole in the wall but it works

BigMike

I like how you covered the bottom of the tube doors. I was told it is okay to drive without doors as long as items on your floorboard are unable to roll and fly out of the vehicle while driving. This is why FJ40s and Jeeps have that lip or edge between the door seal and the floorboard. Nice job!
