It's been a while but i'm back, here are some small updates:

i've gone green, and replaced the bald iroks with 35 km2s which ended up being 1-1/2" taller than my old tires

put in a heater, summit brand. Made a panel to mount ducts, control, and 12V plug

this is as far as I got on the rear doors before it started warming up again

picked this up from a friend, going to replace the lock and clean it up. Going to turn my twin sticks into triple to make room for this in the center

also started on a rear speaker bar to mount on the ceiling between the front and rear seats, will have map lights for rear passengers

I have the rear spare carrier planned out, just need to get the spindle and start building. Also have a CAD model of the front bumper i'll have to grab from work, i'll take an ISO shot to post. I switched jobs from graphics to mechanical drafter/designer just about a year ago and they keep me pretty busy, but i'll try to keep this updated much better than I have the last year.

Wow, you do exist!

Well with the new color we will not look like twins when I finally get my rig painted Tan. Rear door looks great!

Do you think you'll make it to MCR this year?

Yeah, somebody said they saw a green one just like yours the other day.  :ha_ha:  Good to see some progress being made.

Iv'e been watching this build since it started.  When the talk of making it 4door started I clearly remember thinking  your going to destroy the truck and the threads gonna die OR just maybe this is gonna be one bad ride and an awsome build. I was leaning towerd the first.  I gotta say the truck has turned out amazing ! you are a master of the body work.

I do! It's been a long time, my last posts were over a year ago it looks. I'll have to find your thread and see how your project is going. I'd like to make it this year, but it's up in the air. If I can get a few things finished then it's very possible.

Thank you, glad I didn't disappoint. You can add my dad to the list of people who thought it was going to be a disaster.

So the plan for the rear carrier will be a combination of a spindle from 4x4 labs:

and this adjustable tire mount I made for a 3rd gen:

I'll get a snap shot of my front bumper CAD design tomorrow

I'm not sure how many of you folks are connected to me in so.e way or another on facebook, but the quad cab is going on day 3 as a stolen vehicle. Though I might update the thread for so.eone who hasn't seen but would know the rig if they saw it. I'm going to be putting together a short list of distinguishable items that can might be pulled off and tried to be sold. I will post it here when I have time.

Damn! ill keep my eyes open in Sacramento. I had my 84 xtra cab stolen from the front of my old house in March of this year. It was stolem Thursday night. i filed a police report when i woke up Friday morning, then got a call early that Sunday morning at like 3 saying they found it. The guy was driving my truck and got pulled over for no seatbelt... i hope something dumb will get this guy caught! Sorry to hear man. Where are you located, California?

Hey Talon, sorry to hear this priceless rig was taken.  I will keep my eyes open around town.

1985CRAWLER

this rig is like a benchmark for unique built rigs, if it makes it up north ill be sure to keep an eye out, im in an area where alot of toyotas get stolen and parted out unfortunately, ill keep a look out but i hope you get it back in one piece and can continue to build it into a more badass rig!
