The float is just on a metal rod which can be bent easily.

I keep hearing this but I still don't understand? How, in what way do you bend it?

Here is the ford sender

Inside the tan plastic housing is where the fuel pump is located, i removed the pump and ran a tube to the bottom of of the tan housing. The sender float which in this picture is shown pointing away from my hand is modified, the stock float arm normally would be hanging out where my hand is in this picture. It doesn't read quite as accurately but it reads in the right direction for the toyota cluster now and will at least let me know when i'm getting low

stock ford sender (version i used on left)

finally got around to the rest of the weber 32/36 install

had to throw together a little wiring extension for the elec. choke and fuel cut off

and a bracket to relocated the throttle 1" over and 3/8" up

also a helpful link, where I was able to find all the missing parts I needed: http://www.carburetion.com/
and the adapter plates for the 22r intake were from LCE http://www.lceperformance.com/Weber-32-36-38-Carb-to-20R-22R-Manifold-Adapter-p/1033027.htm

working on a sketch for the dash too, may get that up later

have been keeping busy:

cup holders for some FJ40 half doors

also started on build a dash for my truck, mine was cracked and I want to try my hand at making my own. It hasn't had a dash since the cab chop and i'm tired of looking at the wires and naked cluster

i've found packing the pipe with sand works best  :twocents:

i was able to get a pretty good fit for not much work

currently working on some tacoma half doors for a friend:

he wanted them at arm rest height and to keep the stock mirror location, cuts made accordingly

started with the cap template

double checked the fit

cut and bent the cap to match template

shaped and tacked my way from one end to the other

I like all your side projects.  They turn out way sweet.  Any progress on the 3.4 swap or your doors?

Thank you. The 3.4 swap is on hold, don't have the money for the rest of the parts. The doors are on hold as it's warming up here already. Worked on the carb this weekend, going to take it again to try to smog it...again. Whenever it finally passes the list will go dash, sliders & bumpers, spare carrier, doors.

oh the never ending saga, no money.  which we have to work for, which brings us the money but in return we then have no time.  Most of the time I have no money and no time.

Thanks guys, not a huge update but:

As far as smog, found a thermo-switch that was bad that diverts the smog pump air, looking for a solution that doesn't involve the $130 dealership solution.

Finished off the tacoma doors a while ago, don't have a finished/painted pic just primed

Made a small 12" press break for bending brackets, works great

bad example but here's the first test on this dash flange

In the mean time got something done i had been meaning to do for quite a while now. Plated my front frame rails and new shock hoops:

I also added a leaf to each of my RUF packs, gained 2 inches so now i've got a comfortable 5" up travel so that's a big improvement on what it was before. Bump stops will be next

It's been a crazy past few months but here's an update. (I took some time off of this, my mom passes away late last month from cancer at 45...too young.)

Dash is done

included some switches for the rock lights

$20 string of 20 LED pods I picked up a while ago, found them in the LED lighting thread in general 4x4 discussion (pirate4x4), they will also be interior lighting

plan for interior lighting

going to start to lift the rear 2" today, doesn't look like it in this pic but it's sagging a bit after i re worked the front, doesn't even have weight in it yet so needs to be fixed

In a couple weeks I should have enough to get the material for the sliders and rear bumper, my new goal is to have it armored enough to try to make it to the Marlin Crawler Round Up in Sept.  :crossed:

Amazing work. I am looking forward to possibly seeing it in person at the round up. I know it would be nice for you to get out and wheel that thing.

That dash is looking good, but are you thinking of adding any padding anywhere?

Now you need to redo your inclinometer image, LOL.

I am thinking of adding a pad on the passenger side, i'll also be adding a retractable handle bar for the passenger

I'm really hoping I can make it, i've never done the rubicon before so a little nervous as to how capable my truck is for it. And It would be very nice to get to wheel again, it's been much too long.
