JP magazine ragging on rock crawlin

He sounds like a jeep guy (have never read his articles before).

If he's so sick of rockcrawling or the competitions, he doesn't have to go does he? 

Not everyone has the money to dump into something like that "1000 hp" 4x4, let alone find a place to scream across a pond or up a climb a cliff, trails are already getting shut down all over and we're not doing anything even close to that. 

Could you imagine how many p'd off tree huggers there would be if we all had one of those, especially here in CA.

It has nothing to do with him being a Jeep guy,you sound like more of a richard than he does.Don't go talking about jeep guys just because you're member a toyota based forum.I know Cappa myself and he's a waaay cool guy,he wrote that article KNOWING he was gonna get heat for it,he's a DAMN smart guy and would probably outsmart you...Besides,it's allready old news  ,it's been discussed on pirate and Cappa's replied numerous times and just laughs at how people are getting their panties all in a knot,kinda like you.

Rockcrawling appeals to me for several reasons, the main one being that a capable rockcrawler can go anywhere (within reason). I didn't buy a truck to go fast, though I have nothing but praise for people that go 100+ mph in the dirt... the thing is, I want a truck that's going to take me through the Alcan Highway, into Alaska, and back. We all have our preferences when it comes to offroading, but preaching based on how one feels is meaningless in the real world... whatever tho, it's just one mans opinion, as is mine.

I could care less what he drives, i'll wheel with anyone, but he wasn't talking any  about low geared jeeps. I don't question his inteligence one bit, i'm sure he's knows a ton more than I do, but why would he write that knowing he'd get so much heat?    Sorry I commented on old news from pirate, I stay away from there to keep from getting  like I am right now. Dude, don't be sorry just because you pissed off one board member.  It doesn't matter if it's old news on pirate or not, this isn't pirate!  People who write for many of the mags are often very opinionated, just like a lot of us, except they have a rag to voice their opinions.  I'm sure they often feel foolish about rants they went on in ink, but that happens when you have that position and emotions.

very well put. the toyota mag does take its jabs at jeeps as well.  i agree with everything and understand how that would sell more to jeepers, just think he went about it the wrong way it seemed very destructive even at the sport or rockcrawlin.  it seemed like on pirate a lot of jeep guys were mad about it as well, we all love crawlin.  just my mini rant though.

Im not sure if this guy has ever been wheeling before. I will admit that watching someone else crawl over rocks can get boring but DUHH.

He covers a topic that is entirely subjective.  Its like making a statement to the effect of "I think the NFL should allow handguns on the field to make it more interesting...."   Its an asinine article to say the least.

People have there poison. I enjoy crawlin, and goin 160mph on my crotchrocket just like the next guy does.

The Toyota comment does not bother me, the LAST thing I want is more people "understanding" what we love to do. If the author of the article doesnt "get it" then thats fine by me. He can keep producing "boring" articles with absolutely zero point to them.
