Update: Everything is almost back together but then.... a snag.

I always used to have a hell of a time shifting back into 2WD with my rear tcase. Turns out my rear case high range shifter shaft was bent to hell, not sure how. Anyway, tried to straighten it... and in the process busted the forks and its still bent  :smack:

So far I have not been able to find one locally. There are still a few more shops I am going to hit up later this week but I figured I would get the ball rolling on this.

So if anyone has a spare top shift case they have maybe taken apart or for some reason don't need the high range shifter shaft, LET ME KNOW!! I want to get my junk rolling and this is the only thing stopping that at this point.

Sweet, let me know. Still no luck locally, found one online but I'd rather just deal with something local.

Cases are back together! Just gotta find time to put my Marlin clutch in and then put the tranny and duals back in. After that I need to get a new gas tank that doesn't leak, get new tires, and take care of a few odds and ends, like fixing my gay rear window that won't roll up and down for some reason. I know the motor is good, I think the wiring is screwed up somewhere.

push on the tail gate on the top left corner. When mine wouldn't roll up/down I would have to get out and use the key while pushing the gate in.

Try the tail gate, and make sure you check the relay box behind the drivers side B pillar. I blew that a few months back.

slam the tailgate hard, then push in the middle while rolling it up.......

Well last winter I was doing donuts and I slid into a snow bank in reverse going like 20 mph, my tailgate got dented in and my window couldnt roll down. so I popped the dents out. But a little plastic piece that holds the window wiring up against the tailgate so it doesnt get caught by the window broke, so I gorilla taped the :pokinit: out of it to try and keep it out of the way. It worked for a couple months then would get harder and harder to roll up. then the console switch stopped working and only the key in the tailgate would open/close it. sometimes I'd have to jiggle it into just the right place to get it to work. then it just stopped outright. key doesnt open it, nor the switch. I havent messed with it at all since it stopped working so I need to go back through and check out everything you guys mentioned. when you guys say 'console switch' do you mean the switch itself is bad or the wiring that goes to it?

either is possible. I would get a test light and see whats hot and whats not, then go from there.

im meaning the switch itself.

cause I know if that switch is not connected you cant use the key switch at all.
so when that switch goes out... it hinders the key switch.

This is Kyle's first gen Taco he just recently got done building. Its bad ass. He is running D60/70, a gear drive tcase with Marlin 4.7s and 41s on 20" rims. Hes working on a full exo for it right now.

Normally I am not a fan of 20" rims on crawlers but that actually looks pretty cool. He said he only got em cuz he scored the rims and iroks for $400. I'd prolly do it do thats a deal.

Any guy who takes his woman wheeling enjoys her. A woman who is owned is left at home to cook, clean, and keep beer cold. So if this offends you you should stop looking and go have some tacos.    :rofl2: And a beer. If your old enough.   :beerchug:

Yeah the plan is to get it rolling and back on insurance to do a little snow wheeling and actually be able to get out of my driveway once a good snow storm hits this winter.
