so thats why you haven't been working on your truck!

Bingo!  4Runner is getting a cage in 2 weeks though!!

backyard is looking nice!..almost time for a bbq

I can't wait for that day!  I also have some big plans for extending the covered patio out and putting in a deck outside of the master bedroom but that's for next summer.  I can't afford it this summer.  Just getting some grass back there will help out a ton.

sod is not cheep...we airated and seeded this year a few months ago, 100000times better. Plugs can work well sometimes, depending on your soil content.

We're looking at $600-$700 for 2100 sq foot.  I like the seed idea also but I need that instant gradification that sod gives ya   Plus it give the kids something to play on soon.

Nice!  Whatre the plans for it?  internal or exo?

Scotty at Addicted and I are going to build an internal cage.  I'm hoping for an 8 point and maybe something similar to the ORS cage without quite as much bend in that D pillar tube.

Hey Volcom... you got a nice yard in the works there; too bad the view is ruined by all the houses! Where do you work on the rig? You get hassled by the HOA (if there is one)?

I'd rather have 100 acres of flat boring land than 100 neighbors within sight...  :twocents:

But I rent so I'll  :lipsrsealed: now

Dan

I know the view isn't the best but it works for us.  The kids love the neighborhood and having other kids their age running around.  We are at the end of a long cul-de-sac so no traffic.  There is an HOA.  The HOA is the main reason we sold our other house.  I've had one letter from the HOA stating that I couldn't park my utility trailer on the driveway.  That was probably a year ago.  That little trailer has sat on my driveway while I've been landscaping for 2 months now and nobody has said a thing.

I've got a 3 car garage that I work on the rig.  I put an 8 foot tall door on the 2 car garage to make sure the 4Runner would fit :D

I'd love to have some acreage as well but we couldn't afford it.  One of these days, I plan on getting some land and building a big shop on it.  That would be nice!

All the parts that are going in... long output, hydro assist, etc., minus the fan and gears which should be here soon :tantrum:

I have been working on the sammy, new weber, some re-wiring, and put the top on and I picked up a ton of spare parts for $100

Hey could anyone recommend a good engine machine shop around the Denver metro area? I need to get a 22r block bored, milled, and hopefully hot tanked.

I looked up some places and I am calling for pricing today.

we have the HOA nazi..who actually has nothing to do with the HOA...he calls the city if my trailer is out for more than 3 days, so I park it in front of his house for 24 hrs for retaliation, and he cant do squat about it..and this is just the beginning

Been there and done that.  I used to park an oil leaking POS 85 Toyota pickup in front of my old house.  Neighbors turned me in so the letters from the HOA lawyers started stating it couldn't be parked in one spot for longer than 24 hours on the street (city owned street BTW).  I then proceeded to park the truck in front in front of each of my neighbors houses, dripping oil right in front of their houses and moving it everyday after work.  I then got another letter from the lawyers stating that wasn't "in the spirit" (exact words!!) of the covenant.  Wrote the lawyers back telling them that I looked through my entire copy of the covenant and my copy was missing the "spirit" secton :D

I then proceed to turn every SINGLE household into the HOA that was breaking the covenant.  Sheds too close to property lines, satellite dishes that could be seen from the front yard, trailers, and people parked on the street or their driveway for longer than 24 hours.

Jeff wire wheeling the welds before paint

We also cleaned up the floor with the wire wheel to get ready for some DIY Herculiner bed liner.

Dash speader bar just barely cuts off the bottom portion of the guages.

A pillar floor mount.  All the floor mounts are .25" x 5" steel plate.

B pillar floor plate.  We tucked the B pillar hoop back to maximize space to get into the rear seats.

C pillar mounts on top of the tubs to clear the big tires.

Dash speader bar and an awesome grab handle.

All the triangle tube gussets came out perfect!

Rear view of the cage and the D pillar floor mounts.

With the tailgate closed.

I needed to keep the B pillar open to get my kids in and out of the backseat.  I guess I could add a diagonal between the C pillar sometime.

as stout as the rest of the cage looks, seems like an X behind the rear seats and a V in the windshield would be plenty.  Though a real cross-brace closer to the driver would be ideal.
