I completely agree that if the conditions are poor then I surely don't want to travel 6+ hours for it, but weather men are ENTIRELY unreliable at 2 weeks lead time.

Did I miss something? I have not read all of the replys here, but the topic still states "HIGH LAKES JAN 27th!!"

your correct mike, that is the date but up here in chico/paradise it has been really nice weather. i think the last time it rained was a week and a half ago if not maybe more. were just talking about if this continues we should push the date back more. cause having people come up as far as yourselfs and not have a good time/good snow would be crap.

Cool  I suppose I am flexible, but FIREBALL was really counting on my showing up that weekend to help with his sandrail and to hang out.

Valentine's weekends are no good for me (Feb 10th and/or Feb 17th), other than that I'm game. March 3rd is Tierra Del Sol, April 14th is Molina Ghost run, May 5th is Cruise Moab, May 19th is GSMTR, and May 26th is the High Desert RoundUp..

2 weeks is too long for any weather to be really predictable, so there is some hope

there is a big storm coming in this weekend on this side of the hill but i dunno if it is going to hit highlakes or not

FIREBALL

When ever you make it Mike....no prob. But 6hrs? not even that long with your old motor. Hopefully we'll get some weather, that sandy snow sucks butt.

cruzila

Change it to Rubicon. Don't change the date.

There is a tree down now about 6 miles in and noone has been past there since. Since the last big wind storm. What before x-mas? I want to but don't think I'll make it up before then.

There is maybe three feet in spots past uncle Tom's and this one is supposed to be COLD. Powder sugar for sure. Brrr

yeah it's not worth the time or gas to go up there right.  If we don't get some decent snow by the 27 think it should be held another weekend. As it is up there now if you drive off the frozen road, you get stuck. i was cruising through the trees yesterday and found a soft spot and it was like being buried in sand. hopfully in the next couple days/weeks (whenever it comes) it will start and not stop until it has dumped a couple feet like last year.

Ramrod

so is the plan gonna be to wait till this weekend to see if the plans change?  I will no matter what be up there on the 27th because thats the last day or duck season and this has been the best season of my life but i'd be willing totally able to go after that, moreso on say the 10th
