I was sitting in art appreciation the other day and my professor was talking about this protected special forest he used to go too when he lived in France to photograph and paint.  I guess hundreds of artists have been going there every year for hundreds of years to paint and draw and photograph so it's a very special place to alot of people.  He then continued to show us multiple pictures of this place and he showed us one and after that I just wanted to 4wheel all over his protected hippy landscape. Am I a bad person for having the urge to drive all over this "special" forest?

I think you're a bad person for even thinking of going to France! Me...I'd wheel up and down the hallowed hallways at the "institute of higher learning" that you are attending. Why you ask...for making an art appreciation class a part (probably a required part) of the curricula.

Yes and no!  I'd love to crawl the bejeebers out of that picture you posted.  But it all falls under the balance of things!  We've got to have these untouched places for the world to see, and at the same time, have a place to wheel.  I get all excited when I see a spot that would be cool to hit it!  But then I will think about how many people will come along and ruin it!

Ok! who's got photoshop and edit your rig into that pic!!!!!

I see a couple good lines in that picture I'd like to try, but I must admit that even us wheelers need a spot to just relax and see nature in its most natural state. Not every inch of this world needs to be wheeled.... but it sure would be fun.

I am all over that one! Show this to your hippie tree hugger instructor!

(but really, I am in agreement with RS - we need places to wheel and places to enjoy for the beauty of nature, but I could not help but throw the mammoth in there!)

Haha Mrs. W that is awesome. Abnormaltoy, Art appreciation is part of the required curriculum.  I guess it is a good course for someone who plans to be a Marine haha.  I do agree though that there are some places that shouldn't be tampered......but maybe somewhere without as many beautiful rocks?

Ask your professor if he packs out what he packs in, that means everything.

How are you going to enjoy these places if you can't wheel to them? It's easier to drive than walk.

Now I didn't say I didn't want to be able to wheel within 10' from that pristine spot. :gap:

No i don't think you are a bad person because even though you would like to be able to do something, you have the self control to realise that there are better reasons not to.... or something like that. There are worse things that people could want to do than wheeling through somewhere all nice and pristine like that. I could list a few of them but would hate to incriminate my self.

haha i'm pretty sure he packs out what he packs in.  He's a crazy environmentalist.  He also owns a house right outside of that forest so he probably just poops there.  Atleast that's what he tells us......but he's a college professor so he can't be trusted for 100%

You should show your art appreciation professor a thread about being a man.

and that is a very good point. There are just as many that walk into areas, party and leave their trash as wheel. It's not always about how you get there but what you leave behind.
