When I was driving 73 miles one way home from work at night I was  I had found that a product called redline would keep me up the best for the drive home.  I would only take half and  :shocking: I would be up for hours.  I have used Monster the xl can on the way home from the round up when we got in at like 3:00am and it worked good also, and I can stand the taste.  Just wondering if you guys/gals have fallen for the same energy drink fad?

lilbuddy

Im going to have to say Ampd and full throttle are my favorites. My buddy has tried about everyone that there is on the market. Theres one called Hyphy thats also pretty good, its Grapple (grape and apple)

Personally, I like coffee   used to not, but the warmth helps me wake up.  Of the energy drinks, I like monster, but I don't drink them all that often.  Usually just drink soda.  I'm a night person anyway, so late night drives never bother me.  Caffeine doesn't affect me at all, so the hotness of coffee is what helps, especially in the morning at work

That redline is supposed to be seriously dangerous!  I quit drinking energy drinks when I quit drinking soda, but full throttle, full throttle fury and amp were my favorites.  Never ever felt a "boost" from any of them though, and even capuccino can make me drowsy

Apple juice!
I can have one cuppa joe in the morning and after that any caffeine will make me hyper and not in a good way. I hate the feeling of over caffeination.
But check this... apple juice is actually and factually as good a 'pick me up' in the morning (or whenever) as coffee but without the crash or hyperness (that I get)
Google it.
It won't give you the rush a caffeine product does but won't give you the crash either.

Looked it up:  An idiosyncratic reaction to a medication is an unusual unpredictable response specific to a particular person. Unlike an allergy, it can occur on first exposure to the medication, and unlike a side effect, it affects only very few individuals, who may have a genetic or metabolic abnormality.

if you od on apple juic it will make you have the runs.... i thought that too, but then mwm told me to try small quantities, and sure enough, the sugar in the apple juice gives me a great energy boost, and i dont crash as hard as with a regular enrgy drink, oh, and i dont have the runs either

Yknow, as of late I've been drinking more apple juice at work.  Small quantities, but something anyway.  I've always taken a gallon or two in the cooler on longer hunting trips too, but for other reasons  :wink2:

Definetly Monster, Monster Assault and Khaos are my favs. I tried a Amp'd the other day for the first time and it was pretty damn good. Wired tastes really weird, Really really weird. Along with "XS". Rockstar and Rockstar Juice are pretty goon every now and then. I usually don't drink them often when i now i Have a motocross race within a week. But as far as energy and sports, I think they dehydrate me and slow me down more then anything. I was the captain for my wrestling team last winter and before one practice i drank a Monster just see what kind of affects it has on me before a intense work OUt.....    :sheerterror: Man, It was the worst. I was so dehydrated and felt sick to my stomach. I had no energy what so ever and got So worn out and energy less then ever before. So since that day ( and before that) i never have any caffeine before a race or even a week prior. Just Milk, Water, And Gatorade  :twocents:

I only have those energy drinks really when i am hangin out with friends or were all just wrenching on project  :turtle:  late and night or even just to keep our moral up I guess you could call it our substitute for alcohol, Cause i don't Drink. So Energy Drinks are my   :beerchug:

Actually my favorite Energy Drink is water. I can drive for hours on just water. Give me some gum + water, or some  pistachios + water. I average 1/2 to a full gallon of water during a normal day right now. Drinking water at home in the morning, bottled water at school, and ice + water from the fridge door when I am down at the shop. I can't believe how much money I have saved. At first I missed the gatorade and 100% fruit drinks, but then I acquired a strong crave for just good ol' water. I come home in the afternoon and its like "man, I could really go for a nice cup of ice water right now"

How many people here take excedrin (or the like) for headaches? I hate relying on supplements to live. In most situations, I always try to hold out as long as possible without taking any drugs. Of course this is limited, I mean if I break my leg then I'll be the first one taking Ibuprofen. But I've seen people who take advil because their pinky finger nail was aching, or they took 5 tylenols because a hair in their ear canal just fell out. Just live with the pain and learn how to deal with it on your own if you can!

I believe though, that once one starts taking pain killers more frequently, that it becomes nearly impossible to cope with pain by yourself without the medicine. That's whats known as an addiction. So I am trying to live as long as possible without getting hooked on such drugs. I'm sure sooner or later I will enter the Energy drink and morning coffee livestyle, but mannnnnnnnnnn I hope that doesn't happen for a loooooong time.

I hate the smell and taste of coffee and I feel like crap every time I drink an energy drink. I'll feel good for about 5 mins, and then I'll hit a brick wall HARD. But then again I don't drink sodas, so whenever I drink a carbonated beverage, it really burns my throat for the first couple of mins, but then its like "ohhhhh Mountain Dew.... I love you, you are my only friend" Like my good ol' buddy Frank the Tank says, "Fill it up again! Fill it up again! Once it hits your lips, it's so good!"

I am an Ice Tea freak. Perhaps that is my energy drink. Free refils at Dennys and I'll cram for any test all night long. Damn caffeine hahahaha

It is dangerous, I heard a rumor a guy drank 4 of them and cashed his last paycheck!  I drank a half of one and wont drink one again. You have to be 18 to buy them I believe???  The warning label is bigger than the bottle it comes in.

Tilt is another good one, both "alcoholic" energy drinks.
In regards to plain ole energy drinks...anything goes, its all the same. Usually whatevers cheap. I might have 1 in a month, if at all. One time i thought it might help with a hangover, boy was i wrong, i crashed sooooooooo hard.
