boggerunner

boggerunner

Both trucks look pretty good. That small block will be sweet in the 2WD. What are your plans with the 2wd?

im gonna put in some bucket seats, toy 85 4wd rear housing with v6 3rd with 4.10's, and i am goin to check if anyone in town can narrow it so i can fit some 31X 12.5 street slicks, 4 link to come, and i want to convert the front suspension to coils, its already missing the bolts for the torsion bars, so its layed out and it has 4" aluminum blocks in the rear that are gonna be replaced by some leaves , and a kiker to help with axlewrap.
im also gonna mount the radiator and fuel tank in the bed, i will try to find a 16 gallon fuel cell for it. i want a roll pan and a frenched liscence plate box for the rear, and im gonne paint that ugly brown dash, and plans for adding an interior cage. more to come

boggerunner

thought u guys might get a kik outta this,  :willynilly: my first toyota was an 84 2wd dropped with a 22re conversion, 4wd fenders and bed, with a sunroof from an 87 mr2, i still regret gettin rid of that truck :(

You should bag it. If you're going to 4-link it, you might as well. Lol.

boggerunner

Wow, you have a lot going on there sir!

How difficult is it to put a V8 in a little Toyota?

Also, are you planning on running an American transmission as well? (700R4, Turbo 350 or 400)?

I was thinking about going American with a Toyota at one point and time, but the wiring of the thing scared me away!

I had a friend tell me he had 4 wires running his 350 in his Toyota. Is this possible?

Anyway, I apologize barging in like this!

Look like you are getting a lot of work done there!

it fit pretty good considering im runnin the radiator in the bed, and i put a turbo 350 behind it.  Im gonna run the 2wd rearend till it explodes, then i have an 85 4wd  with a v6 4.10 third.
wiring is gonna be cake, 2 wires for the dist. 2 for the starter,  the tach wire, and a temp sensor wire.  the wiring is the least of my probs, the headers i need to buy are gonna cost my ass, so im gonna take the blazer headers i got for $50 and cut and rebuild them so the exhaust comes down under the cab on the outside of the frame with cherry bombers and exiting right before the rear tires.  Gonna be a busy week, bringin my driveshafts to the shop tomorrow.

hopefully, driveshaft will be done tomorrow, rear suspension is dropped to match the front and the blocks are gone, still need to build some headers, not lookin forward to that

gonepostal

both of your projects are looking good.  how hard was it to bolt the '92 dash and swap the motor?  I'm doing a similar project and was wondering about these things.  I have a '80 yota and a '92 and want to swap the drivetrain, harness and dash to simplify the swap with '92 stuff into the '80.  any help and things to look out for would be greatly appreciated.

thanks

boggerunner

the hardest part is cuttin the back off the dash on the top to fit against the bottom of the windshield, and wiring was easy ecept for the heater wiring, i never got that far, but everything else fit pretty good, i used the 79 dash mountin points, and bent L bracets and zip screwed them to the dash, and they have held up for 2 yrs of hard wheelin

boggerunner

started building my own headers tonight, hopefully i will get alot done tomorrow and get some pics on here

boggerunner

well the headers are takin longer than expected, and not lookin like headers anymore, but here are some pics of what i did to the dash
