yeah, they are pretty cheap. you can have mine for $600 bones. unless boggerunner takes it first! haha!

boggerunner

made some more progress on thi mine, got the dual exhaust done, all that is left is the cooling system and fuel system

boggerunner

i will be addin some elbows so the exhaust comes out the side, and i will mount the fuel tank in the bed this weekend.  Does anyone know if the stock 22r fuel lines will flow enough fuel for the chevy v8, or do i need to 5/16 or 3/8 tube?

I am running 3/8ths on my 7MGE, so might as well just bump it up a notch....

well i got the fuel and electrical system done today, but when i tried to fire it up, the timing was off, and there is oil leaking out of the back of the intake, and the kikdown cable for the tranny is leakin, so fix the 2 leaks, and then time for some tire burnin

no victory yet, got the oil leak and tranny leak fixed, fixed some wiring, but now im not gettin any spark through my hei distributor. im gettin power into it, so im wonderin how to check if the coil and ignition module are any good, the cap and rotor are brand new, new plug wires and plugs too, so those are my only 2 options and body have any experience with chevys, im new to them

Kris

Check the control module in the dis.  If you had a short or back feed it will fry it.  The module controls all spark out put.  It is under the rotor.  Autozone has the ability to test them.  I should say most Autozones do.  Call them and they can tell you.  If you have power to the dis and no spark that is ware I would start.
Better to be judged by twelve than carried by six!!

You can grow, You can hide it, You can build it:
BUT WE WILL FIND IT!!  K-9

boggerunner

well ive been killing myself trying to get spark, i replaced the coil with a high output accel one, and an accel control module, and still no spark, so i gave up on used parts,  and bought aa accell billet aluminum distributor, and now she runs and fires right up, now time to fix some exhaust leaks and build altornator brackets and build a cooling system, then some burnout pics will soon follow!!

boggerunner

here are some pics of my new dist. and the start to my cowl hood

boggerunner

got it runnin today, and backed her out of the driveway, but it was too dark and i dont have any taillights yet, so it got put back in the driveway, but she did do a nice burnout on the way back up the driveway.

Tomorrow im going to finish the bed, mount the seats, build rear exhaust hangers and it will be ready for the track.  I managed to fit a 3 core toyota radiator up front with 2 pusher fans, and the altornator is mounted on the lower pass. side of the motor.

Did you rip the exhaust off? That hangs really low underneath.
If you still have control you aren't going fast enough

boggerunner

nope, its still on there, it sits about 2" higher when i get the hangers done tomorrow, but the frame hangs lower than the exhaust so i have no worries

boggerunner

got a bunch of little things done, and took it for a drive around the block, she likes to walk sideways when u stand on it, mabey i need more weight over the rear, and the tranny is still leakin somewhere, but it spins the tires no problem

I was wondering if you still owned a 4wd toy. I'm glad to see some progress! Oh and the burnout pics were cool!

boggerunner

the axle wrap was bad, expecially with no shocks, but if i kept it slow crawlin, it wasnt to bad

im workin on gettin a new welder, so i cant make much progress until i do, im lookin at a lincoln mig 140c with gas, found one for $525 new.  im limited to 110 since i dont have 220 in my garage and im renting, so i cant put it in.  i should have the money for it in 1 or 2 weeks hopefully

boggerunner

made some progress on my 85 front axle.  Man this thing is clean, its never seen a blown birf and the inner axle seals are still in one piece, but im gonna change them, i think they are original.  I went over to the dark side and bought some crap from trail gear.  Here are some pics of my knuckle ball gussets and axle truss, i think they ran out of material on the axle truss cause it is missing a chunk on the front outter side

and some set in place pics
