I have some neat mud flaps coming.  I am required to have em so I have been looking for a suitable set.  This is what i worked up.  I found this company that does custom flaps.  I remembered this emblem i had seen of a yj caracture so I sat down with photoshop and this is what I ended up with, of course converting it to a willys.  And these will be my new flaps.

Ok I got the body back and still have to cut the holes for the shifters but heres my photoshop overlay,  should be fairley close.  Anyways   I was worried about it looking to stretched out being 24 in longer but i am quite pleased.

My avatar pic is a picture with the body on before I had the gap from the extension glassed together,  I was trying to figure out what color I wanted to paint it so I colored it green and liked it so I made it my avatar.  Sorry for the confusion.

its going to be triangulated infront and behind the middle post,  and double tri. behind the front seats, and some on the roof.  then everything will be gusseted.  The shop that put the cage on really screwed me so I am having to redo alot of their work,  they never even welded all the way around half of the cross bars in the cage..   I will also be moving the rear shocks and droping the back end down another 3-5 inches after I get my tank mounted up to try to get a lower center of gravity.

Alright heres the real body on the rig, no photoshop no nuttin ,  its not quite on all the way because there is some glass buildup that needs to be leveld off as you can see around the motor.   But overall I am very happy, It does look a bit stretched, but with the cutout flares seats and cage it will look less stretched and more origional.  LOL as origional as it can   :rofl2:

I have a camping/ wheeling trip planned for the 26th of this month so Im hoping by the 23 so I can drive it around a bit before I hit the trails.  The last time I drove this thing it had 30in tires and a 80in wheel base,  so I think there is going to be a bit of a relearning phase.

haha yeah that could be a good thing to get used to it before hand instead of still getting the feel for it on the trail

This is the cheapest place I found for mine

http://bigtirebalancers.com/

Centramatic has a cool demo on how they work on their website,  mine ran right at 300 for all four.  But they may be cheaper if you have smaller rims.

Anybody ever heard of these axles by portaltech,  their a ford nine in with a portal desighned for offcamber and offroad.  Thinking of these instesd of rockwells for my axle upgrade next year,  I know its a ways away but just wanted to get your opinions.  They have more ground clearnance and should be plenty stronge because the portal boxes really should reduce the axle stress.  I dont know.  enlighten me please why and why not?   >:(

those look high tech, they would look real nice on your rig, how much are they?

skipnrocks

That seems to be the big question,  I called today and left a message on them.  I dont immagine their anyworse than any other fancy axle, I know I looked into a set of dynatracs and they were about 5 grand per axle,  and then I looked at atomic axles and they were around 5 grand an axle, and I also looked at currie.  But I will let you know when I find out.  If I can scrounge up the the cash mabe I will order a set this summer.

wow, thats a lot of money...for that much they better live up to and go beyond the call or duty

I am kinda wanting to run 47in ltbs or some simular irocks so if they will deal with the stressthey will be well worth it.  Plus they will give me an extra 4 in of clearance without having to adjust my suspension at all.

Here is a pic of the body fully mounted and with the rear fender flare on.  I think it makes the body less stretched out.

Well I would be guessing that your talking about the service truck in the background, but if not there is also a ladder and a hose reel,  LOL just kidding.  Pretty sure you mean the service truck,  think it belongs to an electrician.
