does he do side work?  does he have the capability to turn down  axle tube on the inside and knuckle balls

Duffil

he can do pretty much anything you need.  He can do the ID of tube, what do you mean about the knuckle balls though?  It's all pretty much side work for him.

snowshoebrue

well the new housing i bought it 3/8 so they recommended machining on both the housing and the ball shafts to make it stronger than taking all the material off of the knuckle balls when i weld it together.  i ordered the housing without ends cause it was $500+ cheaper that way

Duffil

I'll have to check with him on the axle, I'm not sure if he could get the length of it on his lathe.  the balls would be no problem though.  What is the width going to be on your axle so I can let him know?

snowshoebrue

overall width wms is 64 so probably 49-50".  it's +9 on a standard housing

Duffil

made it up around 75-80 today, no vibes. :beerchug: not bad for a homebuilt shaft.  Also took the pig offroad, pulled a wheel up and finally got a decent pop outta the detroit.  Have a little over 100 miles on it and so far so good.

these are lifted to the point where another tire lifts.

I think while lifting the rear end, my drivers rear came up and the pass front still had some room. ::)

MiniSimp

Looks like your rear shackle mounts neet to be moved forward about an inch....

Went wheeling today. I tacoed my tie rod again, picked up a sunburn,  some trash and some custom bodywork...not too bad though.
