You don't have to, but it helps if you do.  With 5, you could probably get away with just the drop draglink, but flipping the ball makes a big difference, and lets you flip your front ubolts.

There's a pic of the ball flipped on the steering arm above. Reply # 44.  I'll try to take a pic of my steering setup later today.

Oh that's the best idea I've ever heard, go jump it not only will it soften your springs but it will give you this cool look on the fronts too.

They will loosen up over a few runs, just run it through every technical section you can find with something heavy in the rear.

yeah, some would help on rear compression and keep the ass end down, but those things are maxxed.  On extension, anyway.  Look at the last pic as well, there's about 1" between the tire and the bumpstop.

Yeah, I do have power steering.  The drop link was like $76.99 at 4Wheel Parts.

moving your rear shackle mount in the back forward looks like it would get you quite a bit more droop judging by the fact that it is totally streched

hehe, yeah, it is.  If it comes to that, then, well, OK.  If these rears don't settle as much as I want, I'll prolly do that to fix my shackle angle.

You have to grind the backside of it off.  It's like a rivet, and the backside is mushroomed over.  I took and ground down till it was flush, then pressed it out.  Once it's out, just flip it and weld it.

this first pic, you can just see the outline of the stud around the dark circle.

I had the same problem.  Read this post that I did about a month ago.  This solution really has worked well for me.

I just wanted to give thanks for Steve at South Bay Driveline for helping me solve a irritating problem that I was having. After lifting my '84 Extended Cab I was experiencing some "spine tingling" vibrations coming from underneath the truck. After climbing under the truck, I found that the center support bearing was completely worn out and the rear half of the driveshaft's pinion angle sucked. Once I discovered this, I weighed the options and found that I could either replace the center support bearing and have the same thing happen down the road, or I could cut it all out and replace it with a one piece shaft. After doing some looking on the net, I stumbled across this article and it grabbed my attention (http://www.4x4wire.com/toyota/tech/driveshaft/).

After reading the entire article a couple of things stuck out. This shaft was, in essence, a chevy shaft built to fit onto our Toyota trucks. This shaft was completely ready to go and outfitted with Dana/Spicer u-joints which means they are strong, as well as easy and cheap to replace if needed. I was sold, so I contacted Steve and all he required was the flange-to-flange measurements in order to get the shaft built. I provided him with these numbers and he custom built and shipped the shaft the same day. When I recieved the shaft, it was noticably lighter and beefier, so I put it in and haven't looked back.

I just thought I would give Steve some "props" since he treated me really well and the price was more than reasonable. That's just my two cents.

And......That's it.....

Yeah, I read that like a week or so ago.  I'm gonna keep the two piece in it until I go duals.  I don't want to spend money twice when there is no reason to, plus I have a shaft that is the correct length for an Xtra Cab running duals.

Yeah, grease tends to fly off the ujoints when you overgrease em. :haha:

I really want to bob the bed, but I'm a girl thingy when it comes to cutting up something that is in good condition.  So probably sliders , and as soon as Meanokie [khmm, paging shawn, aisle1] gives me my rear third back, I'll be dropping in 4.88s.
