Pleanty. If you want it stronger, run the bolts through both sides of the tube.

I plan to.  I figured, what the hell, if 2x2x.120 is good enough for a front hanger, it's good enough for my shock mount. what's a little extra beef, anyway?

Did Slickrock Trail today.  Lost a front tire, and had some fuel issues, but no body damage

OK, here's some more new-to-me's.  :smack:

I'm not really happy with the backspacing, but for $100, I can't really complain.

Looks OK to me, but I like keeping my tires under my rigs. Looking a lot more like a rig now for a base model.

:funny: Thanks.  See, the thing is, I only have like 2" between the inside of the tire to the bumpstop on the frame.  So it's gonna kill what little flex I had.

Not very pretty, but she was FREEE.95!!  :yesnod:
It was outside for like 4 years, but when I tore it down, it's still in great shape.  Only real rust was on the reduction box bearings, which aren't getting reused anyway.

OK, I'll post this in chronological order so you guys really appreciate how stupid I am.
I ordered a 21-spline MC-07.  I had a 21 spline t-case, and a crawl box.

I bought a parts truck for $150.  All I knew was it was IFS, VIN tag said G52. There was no engine. I pulled the trans and case.  This tcase and gear set looked better than my others, so I opted to use them.  I didn't know what it was, but I knew what it was not.  It was NOT a G52.  I figgered, maybe a G54, as I'd never seen one, and understand the gears are a different, stronger design than a G52.  OK, trans rebuild/upgrade.  That seems plausible.
Here is an old G52 I have:

Here is what came out of the parts truck:

So, I start to assemble my new MC-07 :hyper:

Oil gap is about .008" so she's good to go!

So I decide to grab a spare input shaft and see how it fits in the coupler.  Damn, this thing feels tiny...
SPLINE COUNT!!!

CRAP!!!

OK, so I got an R151 and Tcase for 150 bucks!!!  :pokinit:.  So here is my question:

Do I swap the 21spline coupler for a 23spline, and put this in the rear case
OR
do I check out the condition of the R151 and then have to buy a 23spline gear for the rear case?  I had to borrow the money to buy the truck, so I am hella broke, but I wanna do it right and do it once.  If I need to build the R151, it'll cost bank; the 23spline gear will cost me some cash also. What do I do?

OK, I guess I'm gonna run 21 spline for now and hang on to that core.

I finally decided to throw this thing in, so here it is.
 8)
I got the rear case apart to convert to top shift, and found this

I got further in and found the Quiet Run gear on the low speed gear was hammered! almost no teeth left, so I swapped it for another one. Also swapped a countershaft. This is the mating gear on the stock countershaft.

Top Shift converted:

Crawl box in:

It was a pain to do it one case at a time.  If they ever come out, it'll be as a set.

I had to use the stock crossmember for now, which means no front driveshaft.  :shhh: Hopefully it'll be there in a week or so.
