Yeah I am just trying to see what is the popular choice by people for their rear end, and I am just trying to get some suggestions for myself.

I have a Detroit, but might try an Aussie if I were to do it again.  The Aussie is less money and should be a bit smoother on the street, but it would make a lot more noise when ratcheting on the corners.  LockRights are a similar design and notorious for their noise.

P.S. you forgot Detroit EZ, Toyota E-Locker, limited-slips which technically isn't a locker, but neither is an open differential that IS and option.  :headscratch:
1989 4Runner: Dual Ultimate (Inchworm front & Marlin 4.70 rear), Marlin Twin Stick, 1200-lb clutch, 4.88 R&P, Aussie Front, Detroit rear, 30-spline Longs, Long hub gears, ARP hub and knuckle studs & 35x12.50 Cooper STT PRO tires.  Marlin rear bumper & sliders.  FROR front bumper.  SAS with Alcan springs & Rancho 9000XL shocks.  Budbuilt Bolt-on traction bar.  Custom Interior Cage by Those Guys Rod and Customs.

Did you know it is actually a LockRight per the website (www.powertrax.com) and not a Lockrite or Lock-Rite as it is often referred to?

in all honesty you know what I'm going to say because we've talked about this before but I wouldn't put a lockright in the rear of my rig.  That is just me but I wheel pretty hard and I dont' want to break another one.  You on the other hand might get away with it.  I'm not affraid to hammer it when I need to and I go in the rocks more than I see you doing.  Just go the lesser expensive way right now and you can sell it and upgrade later if you want.

I just purchased an Aussie Locker the other day and will be installing it in the rear of my toy before next weekend.     Can't wait to see the difference in wheelin with a locker.  I've read some good reviews on the Aussie locker, I'll repost after installing it and let you know what I think.

You forgot Downey Limited-slips, I've got 2 f/r and they work great. I didn't vote since there was no choice for me but I am considering going with a spool in the rear, my Downey's are getting old.

From what I've heard and experienced I prefer the Downey/Auburns over the truetrac, I can get into the twistys lift a tire tap the brake pedal and feel those suckers lock in. They have yet to fail me or the previous owner, they've been in my truck for 15 yrs. and still load up and break free to manufacturer's spec's.

Well the Aussie locker was easy to install and is quite on the road,  I have not gone wheelin yet but from what I have done so far it is going to work really well.  If money is not an issue then get a Detroit Soft Locker.
