Wow, I didn't even realize those were RCs until the second time I looked at it, and after reading the word "RC" on your post.

I want to swap the interior from my old cab in to this one. Might keep the old one as a spare?  I also need to check and see if the wiring harness is the same because the new cab has cruise control!

nothing really just cracked around the battery and the roof has some small dents.

thats would be ALOT easier to fix than swapping wiring harness's and a whole interior! trust me i'm restoring a 66 bronco body to put on my 67's frame right now..... and that's like over 40 years old.

as you know, it's ALOT of work lol

I know its a lot of work but in the end it will be worth it. I know I'm crazy. :gap: But the sunroof is sweet!!

I LOVE them. I hope they make a 40'' in the new TTC tread pattern. So far only 54's.

yoter4x4

you should TOTALLY give me more info on the round headlight conversion. i've wanted them on my 83 forever now!

your truck looks sick with the claws too, i gotta give props to the guy with the hardbody as well, always loved those trucks but most people just trash them and they are getting hard to find.. even though they last for fricken ever.

The round headlight conversion is crazy simple. I bought new bezels, lights, and the metal headlight retainers from a guy on Pirate who was parting out an '81. I removed all of my lights and parts from my '82. If you look at your core supports on your truck you will find that Toyota was kind enough to leave the bolt holes that match the '81 headlight metal retainers. I just bought some bolt/nuts and three later I had my lights in. Everything else bolted in using the existing tabs. Even the headlight plugs were the same. Took me 20 minutes.

As for my buds Nissan, its a slow work in progress. After putting the boggers on there he quickly realized that he needs a gear swap or an engine swap, as the truck cant even get out of its own way. He has big plans for it.

yoter4x4

very nice, i figured it was pretty easy, but now i know

my roomate has a 88 hardbody. it's motor outlasted the body definitly, the only thing holding the bed on is the plastic bed liner and one of them gay chrome roll bars that is now bolted to the frame because there was nothing left in the bed to bolt to.

had to put doors off my nissan tough truck onto it because his doors were so rusted you would get wet driving through a rainstorm with the windows up. the roof rusted through and leaks also, there is grass growing in the mildewed carpet, it's got 367,000 on the original 5 speed and z24 4 cylinder  :driving: unstoppable haha

Where are you guys gettin these Toyota RC's at???      :dunno:     man i searched EVERYWHERE and cant find anything but a couple that "kinda" look like Toyota?????

Quick Draw

Search for "Tamiya Bruiser Hilux".  You can get the bodies on Ebay pretty cheap to put on other crawler rigs.  But the actual complete Tamiya Bruiser is damn near as much as a real truck.  The above truck is a very good scale rig...I would be very interested to hear how much time and money are into it.  Every time I thought about getting more into the RC stuff, I decided that its money that could be better spent on the real thing.
