Awsome photos.  I wish I had the time and the money to get myrig up into the snow.  Guess that one more thing to add to the list.

What is a perk of an aussie locker?

They are similar in design to the LockRight and Detroit EZ lockers, but they are advertised to unlock easier for turning and there seems to be fewer cases of broken parts.

I have not really tested my front Aussie locker since it has been installed, but the springs are much softer than a LockRight, which should allow it to lock and unlock smoother, and when I put my truck on jackstands it definitely unlocks much easier than my rear Detroit (full locker).

It does have the classic "ratchet" sound that people often complain about in lunchbox lockers, much louder than my Detroit.

With all this snow wheeling, gotrocks might have to carry a bucket of snow to Moab!  16 more days!  :yesnod:

Shoot me over those pics and vids when you get a chance. Thanks again and if your around this weekend mabey we can go again.

gotrocks

no  prob jon,  I'll post some pictures from this last weekend this evening.  I just got my rock sliders (we have a store in town now that carries all that stuff YEAHHH!!!!!) so I"m putting them on this evening.  I will let you guys all know how it turns out and post pictures of the setup.

gotrocks

well sorry its been a while since I updated my buildup.  Lots have changed since I posted last.  Got my rock sliders on, built a new front winch bumper, broe 3 birfs and 2 inners, got body damage put in 30 splines, broke either a r/p or locker not sure yetand I think thats about it.

I spent a week down in moab last week with blackdiamond and oh man every time I come back I want a buggy.  I am always wanted to take the harder line and of course I break something else.  I spent more in money in replacing parts than in the initial cost of the trip.  I had 3 birfs break in 2 days.  So when I was replacing my second birf we called up Bobby Long and had him overnight me some 30 spliners.  I got them in less than 24 hours and rebuild my front end for the 3 time in 3 days.  Hey at least I know that i can swap out a complete set in less than less than 2 hours now.  Anyhow I have tons of picture just waiting to be resized that I will post up shortly.  Blackdiamond and I did Pritchet Canyon in 4 hours (normally an allday event) and didn't even have to break out the winch at all.  Only a man powered strap to get us up the hardest obsticles.  Make sure and keep looking because a truggy is coming along shortly with full widths D60/14b and S/B on 40's.  Just got another 85 ex cab that needs a new motor.  Just make it convenient that I have all the parts to make up my buggy that I've wanted for so long.

blackdiamond

Let me just say that the Moab trip proved gotrocks fabrication skills.  He isn't responsible for broken axles, ring and pinion or lockers, and the only other things that required repair were a direct result of not having the time to finish things 100%.  Any truck that runs Pritchett Canyon and Behind the Rocks (backwards) the same day without any breakage is getting close to having the "bugs" worked out.

Poowoo

gotrocks

you should come over and check out the new carnage.  The pinion did break in my 3rd and so I've got to find someone to help me to put it in for me tonight if possible.  I had lots of metal chucks come out of the diff when I pulled it.

blackdiamond

This is for you gotrocks!   :psss: will I have a DVD soon?

:psss: I will try to get a CD burned tonight and in the mail early next week with full size images as well as these reduced versions.  As it turns out we have more pictures of your truck than mine.  I guess it is difficult to take pictures of my truck when the photographer is a passenger.

than blackdiamond, same goes of your truck.  i've got more of yours than of mine.  Hopefully it'll even it self out.  I'm waiting for Aaron to burn the DVD.  Haven't really seen him this week since we're at different schools now.

well I got my spare 3rd put back in my truck this afternoon and drove it around tonight.  I'm convinced that now I have a bent axle housing.  My longside axle doesn't want to go in without dragging on the flatspot on the bottom of the longfield.  Now if only I could just go without breaking something for a while.  My club is going up tomorrow to tollgate and go snow wheeling, now that the road are open.  I'll post of pictures for everone to check out sometime next week.

It is looking good.  keep up the nice work.

Well guys time for a little TLC to the 36 build.

Right now gotrocksgirl wants to have something 4wd so we decided to make this one for her.  I started a cage up in August but it got put on hold because my buggy got done and I had to finish it so that we could take it to the roundup.  We obviously didn't were 2 days to late for that one and after that Marathon build I was just sick of working on stuff for a while.  Well now school has started and I have a little motivation to get working on my rigs again and so I have decided to give you guys a peak at whats been happening in my shop.

Things I didn't like about my quick build:

-Shackles under the frame have been giving me caster angle problems, so I will be putting the frame tubes in and correcting that
-Shock hoops were mounted to low up front and need to relocate them
-Rear shock mounts are not to my liking
-Want a new front locker
-gusset front axle
-Need new wheel bearings
-Need new felts and seals
-finish front bumper
-build rear bumper
-trim rear fenders
-build interior cage
-Needs new paint and interior carpet/and paneling (might as well do it while the upholstery is out for welding the cage)
-I also want to put in power door locks and recharge the AC

As you can see its quite a list and I really want it to be perfect for my soon wife to be (gotrocksgirl).  The last thing I want is for something to go wrong for her while she is driving it.

Now since I'm getting blackdiamonds ex cab, that will become my DD and I'll put the 37's on it.  I am currently on a waiting list for some 35 toyos for this rig and will lower the suspension down for gotrocksgirl and get it more street friendly.

gotrocks

heres a couple of pictures of what I've done so far

Interior cage work.  It fits really really tight

I removed the front axle to do a complete rebuild of it so I went out and bought some awesome jackstands.  I highly recommend getting some if you don't have some this huge already

I wanted to get rid of some pesty rust I had going on around the rear fender so I decided to some some trimming.
