newb 3rd member question
« on: Jan 06, 2006, 04:08:59 PM »
this would be for my 85 runna 4cly.

are v6 and 4cly 3rd's interchangable? ie: putting v6 3rd's into 4cly axles?   i thought the v6 ones were high pinion?  will that even matter?

and  are 4cly 3rd's interchangable front and rear?

and are v6 3rd's interchangable front and rear?

THANKS!!!

No no no, I just gave the condensed version.  Ok, to be fair: All 8" thirds are interchangable, doesn't matter if it's v6 or 4cyl.  The fj80 fronts were hi pinion, that's all.  Yes it will matter cause you don't wanna run a hi pinion third in the rear unless you like constantly replacing parts, but you can run v6 thirds in either end.  Typically the way people do it is hi pinion front, v6 rear.
