Hello, I am a current 1994 4Runner owner and love it.  It has a bunch of miles on it however.  But it gets arround and looks great.  I am about to spend up to $10,000 for a 4Runner for my wife and kids.  I like mine alot, but don't know if I would want to buy her one with that many miles.  Keep in mind I have two small chlidren.  Certain year models of Chevy, Ford, and Dodge vehicles have their so called (BETTER YEARS)!  I am wondering about the same for the 4Runner.  Like, I know that the 96's or 97's started with the 3.4L v6 engine which I have been told was a better engine than the 3.0L v6 like in my Runner.  Milage, dependable, mechanical, and most of all safety are factors in my surch.  Your opinions will be app!  Thanks, Shawn

Defninitely go with the 3.4, dont even bother with another 3.0.  If you havent had problems yet, you will.  Ask me how I know
