What is happening:

He first off has 4.10s in the axles, that is why he kept breaking outputs and whatnot.

Now his issue is having poly t-case mount bushings and stock rubber motor mounts. Old drag racers will tell you, Never do just one thing poly/solid. Reason being is all the stress will be at the more solid mount because the rubber is so soft and has so much more play it's almost like not having a mount there at all.

I was having the same problem but the opposite way. I have rockstomper poly motor mounts and stock t-case mounts. Beacuse of this all my stock motor mount welds kept cracking. I put the TG heavy duty poly t-case mount in my truck justrecently. I will know here pretty soon if that solved my problem or not.
Are you guys still putting chain on the motor mounts with the poly?

kiyul4130

i put chain on and ripped the chain off the frame and MM's after my second trip out. it was not because of bad welds. im gunna get some 3/16s flat bar and use that till i make some custom mounts.

got some more stuff done. took me the whole day to weld the frame completely up and do the driver MM. i let the frame kinda cool in between welds. i do 2 passes at a time on the outsides of both sides and then insides and take a 10 min break in between. every now an then you could hear the frame softly creak. i just wanted it to stay straight. everything is level and square so its good. the rest of my day was that motor mount but i liked how it turned out.

upper link should clear fine. drainage spaces for water/snow/mud in the stitch welds.

i can get 9" easy of vertical seperation between the upper and lowers at the axle end. 10" is doable, but things start to get pretty tight.

i also need to get my box mounted up.

thats it for now.

x2 my frame sucks compared to yours :inthedark:
Your truck reminds me of mine, except yours has a few more battle scars.

kiyul4130

the original frame is a piece of crap and is in the way of everything. anyone need some high steer arms for a dana 60? there WFOs and in the pictures above. i found some that would work better for my setup.

Mines squared from the stock motor mounts up but i'm gonna cut it out and do something similar to yours so I can get more room for my ph bar.  I think the weakest part of the stock frame was right about were you cut yours off :dunno:
