I don't have a digital camera.  I took pics of my " new to me" 84 Toyota p/u today and had WalMart develop them to a cd for me.
I opened a photobucket acct. so I could host my pics.  when I put in the pic cd it makes me download "walmart's picture software and hosting service"  but I can't figure out how to just transfer the "pic cd" to my hard drive (my pictures folder)...... from there I can get them into my photobucket album.

Please Help me b/c I want to show off my new turd!!!!  :yupyup:   :talkingn:

got it figured out....... thanks anyways...... here's a few of a TON of pics I took today.  guess this'll be my "buildup thread"
It's an 84 Toy with 25k on a 22R and a rebuilt tranny.  needs some TLC but it'll get it.  enjoy  :biggthumpup:

well we busted a$$ today and have it completely stripped down for prep and paint.  :clap:

this one's gonna be bare bones so we pulled all the interior as well so tubbing the firewall will be easier as well as cage building. also began cutting out the spare tire mount/hanger, changed the bling wheels to temp. 31"s on rockcrawlers.  :yupyup:

I also cut my front fenders and cleaned that area up. pulled out about 5000 EXTRA wires from previous owner who was "eat up with the dumba$$"    :flamer: her  :tantrum:
gotta buy a digi cam tomorrow so I'll have some pics up.  :bowdown:

did I mention that my stupida$$  backed over the taillight wiring harness and sheered it into two pieces- I'm a dummy  :smack:

And The Yota In The Background Is Gawkers (my roommate)  :biggthumpup:   :thumbs:

oops, I didn't know there was a projects thread. noob mistake.

thanks for breaking the silence... it was hurting my feelings  :screwy:

not super sure on the "plan" 38"s... longs... low cog(3"lift maybe)... tube bed... f150 springs rear... Rears Up Front... interior cage... painted dark blue and lined interior.... twin case with 4.7's in rear...Detroit Front... welded rear.... hydro assist.... That's about it

my cheapo digi cam broke on the 2nd day so I don't have more pics yet but I sanded it down yesterday and stripped all the rust then put down the first coat of RustOleum Rusted Metal Primer.  seems to work really well and what great coverage!.. gotta sand sand sand and then another coat of primer... then wet sand. wash and spray Blue!

also tubbing the firewalls this weekend.  pics soon. thanks  :yupyup:

The duals are coming off... it was the chicks before me.. I repeat... I DID NOT PUT DUALS ON IT!  :smack:   they sound ok though

Well if you plan on running 38's then that will leave those hideous Tundra rims without an owner. I would be happy to help you with that issue.

my digi cam crapped out so no new pics BUT.... I got it completely sanded and everything is in primer except the hood. now I gotta sand with some 220 then another coat of primer....wet sand/wash and paint away! tubbing firewall before paint. pics soon

using RustOleum- Heavy Rusted Metal Primer... works pretty well
painting with RustOleum- "Tractor" Style Paint... whatever is at WalMart

gonna spray a coat of navy blue "rock lube" later

will get new camera asap  :thumbs:

aight... gonna go get a camera this week and hopefully finish up my wheeltubs on Saturday and then get it painted Sunday.  IF I get that much done I'll go on to finish hacking out un-needed frame stuff (rear)  and prepping for bedlined interior  :yupyup:

Prep always sucks. Be sure of what springs you want to run before you hack too much off the frame. Some springs require moving the mount to the rear as well as to the front. :beer:

thanks, I was referring to the spare tire thing.  I'll be running 2wd F150 springs rear and hybrid RUF's.  preciate the heads up though  :beerchug:

update-  pounded in the wheel tubs and am ready to get templates made then LEARN to weld on toy sheetmeta!!!  :shocking:  :shocking:  :shocking:   buy my roommate is a welding machine so I hope to get it quickly.

then prep for bedline'd interior,,, then paint on Sunday I hope.  This things gotta be ready to wheel by Oct. 28th!!!!!!!!!  URE

alright... I'm happy with this weekends accomplishments.

*  my roommate did 99% of my wheeltubs for me and they turned out GREAT... they are waaaaaay back there (to body mounts)

*  we (knowing nothing about paint/bodywork) painted the entire truck RustOleum Navy Blue.  1st coat looked great then I did a second and third coat and it is the worst looking/ runny paintjob EVER.  :smack:   It'll look great after I roll the truck once or twice and push in a few panels  :yesnod:

* we re-assembled the body (except doors) with my freshly cut fenders. 

*got my 36" TSL's mounted all around (and they clear)  :yupyup: 

* I became "chiptar" the guy who chips ALL the tar off the floor and firewall so the local shop can bedline it for me on Thursday.

Next it'll be weld the rear diff, bedlined and I gotta hook the heater back up... assemble steering column, build the flatbed, put in some seats for some wheeling.  Then it's gonna grow up quickly.  Pics Tomorrow or next day. thanks for reading up  :thumbs:

I strongly urge you to put the heater and derfroster in. I had a yota with no defroster and it was absolutely terrible. When it rained the entire truck fogged up. Unless you don't wheel in the rain and don't get morning frost I would not take it out. Removing the dash sounds like a good idea but leave the defroster in no matter what unless you are going to remove the windshield.

got it back from being interior lined today and cut out my spare tire "crossmember".

putting interior back together (read mounting seats)  right now. taking a break.   :yupyup:
gotta pull rear 3rd for welding and start on my flatbed tonight/tomorrow  :bowdown:

well... sorry for taking so long but I went wheeling this w/k.  got the flatbed "frame" built and welded on ( needs tube now).... got the third welded up and works great.... got heater/defrost back in and interior is lined now (looks great btw)... so I went wheeling.

the 36's rubbed under flex and steering so I figured I'd have more fun on some 31's laying around. I'll put the others back on asap. enjoy  the pics.

This w/k I'll be putting both new spring packs in (97 Taco's in the rear, hybrid Rears Up Front), finish interior assembly, wire up samurai taillights and mount em' out back, weld up sliders and mount, strip the rims and put new tubes in tires, Mount and Balance (yeah right) my TSL's while painting rims hammerite grey

Just say no to Sami tail lights. :stopit:  The Sami lens is brittle and they don't put out a lot of light. Buy a cheap set of trailer lights and a flasher relay. When you break one (not if) they are easy to replace and are water resistant (unlike the Sami).  :twocents:  You have probably seen this, here are a set of trailer lights:

The truck again looks great.  :thumbs:  :thumbs:
BTW: I don't miss the short wheelbase days of the Sami either.
