I came by and said hi as i was walking out of the trail.  How did dirtmover get fixed?  You guys weld the steering arm on?

HERE ARE THE PICS OF THE REAR QUARTER DAMAGE, DOESNT MAKE ME HAPPY CONSIDERING THAT THE PAINT JOB WAS 5500 DOLLARS...BUT I DID BUILD IT TO WHEEL. OTHER THAN THAT, I BEAT THE HOLY CRAP OUT OF MY SLIDERS AND REAR BUMPER. ALSO HAVE A LARGE DENT IN THE BOTTOM OF THE GAS TANK
:qtip:

Hyena

Speaking of gas tank.  Rocky smashed the crap outa his on saturday.  It is smashed in a good 6 inches.  Ripped right down the middle too.  They apoxied it and filled it with as much gas as they had with them at the time.

you shoulda waited for us to give you a ride:D

he wasted his trunion as well so johnh stacked some washers and a socket in there to support the knuckle and then welded the steering arm on.  we both had to limp out in 3wd. i drove home in 1wd, kinda weird when i shifted on a left hand turn the locker would go limp for a second and then the whole truck would lean.

Yeah from a little ways back from the slabs to the staging area took us about an hour but we got him there with plenty of first class spotting, very little rock stacking was necessary.  :acclaim: :respect: Even made it through gatekeeper in 3wd, nursing it, with no strap.  :rockingout:

Rob knows how to wheel, no doubt.

HaHa you spackled the crap outa that thing. Hey for the ID thing I took a white shirt and spray painted Rocks Hurt Good on the back with some stencils. It only made it to Fri night though when I hiked up Caddy to help some kid with a busted stock J-arm get his rig moved outa the way. I got the thing off and GERM drove us back to camp where Over Rev welded it back up, then me and the dude hiked back in and we put it back together. It only went bout 1 foot before it broke again. Just cant weld cast very well. We kicked the tires enough to steer him down the trail outa the way. By 6am there was 12 rigs behind him. Going back up Sun morning the truck was gone so he must have got it fixed and outa there. That was one helluva night though, I didnt sleep at all. Good times  crazy? Nah!

Busted front driveline bolts, layed it over coming out of the trail.. crunched the entire passanger side and busted the window. Worked on the door today... window rolls up fine now and I pulled off the front passanger fender... worked it a little with a hammer but needs a bit more.. other then that I got out pretty clean... could have got out a little cleaner but I enjoy pushing my trucks limits   :hammer:

went in the gate at 1:00 am sat morning  at the flat rock just past the gate steering felt weird and was not working just right got worse at the other end of Slabs looked and sheared all but prolly a quarter of the splines in the pitman arm J B weld , bailing wire and a hi lift to fix went out again and waited for part to come from sac.
Other rig in our group lost the output shaft out of his D20 ,bent a rear spring and crushed his rear spring perch . Got it straight @4:00 am got him out only after tear off his steering box from the frame.

last breakage was Chris's rig 84 ex cab orange hood blew  his pinion on the way out sunday BIG THANKS to the guy how had a spare with the same setup .

myself got the rig fixed and me and my son camped over night almost on top of the gate to watch and take pics and video left early sunday

All said and done good weekend and next year I'll be  one of the first to do it again!!!

Jason, i saw your wife and the rig on the side of the road when i was heading back up there.  She told me what happened.  Then we past each other a little after that.

Seems like a lot of us broke the 4 bolts on the driveline.  Sucks driving out in 2wd through gatekeeper, that was the only hard part.

Freds40, sucks i just missed you when i was walking out.

shamb, it was pretty cool seeing your rig for the first time, on its side too.  yours deffanantly took more damage then mine.

What? What happened to the Turbo trans? Low on gear oil? I have never seen any R-series go bad. I'm sure Marlin has, but I've never even heard of one.......

They had the tire off and were looking at arm, i stopped and talked for a minute.

you gotta carry spare driveline bolts.  I see those break more than anything else.  I got like 4 sets of spares in my truck
